Default Petition to Apply Affirmative Action to the Basketball Team

From Exposing Leftists | ExposingLeftists.com |

Quote:
Many students support affirmative action, in an effort to promote diversity. They argue that race-based preferences “level the playing field” for disadvantaged minorities. However, these same students refused to sign our petition to apply such policies to the basketball team. At UC Riverside — where the video was filmed — 10/11 active players on the team are African American. Why not use affirmative action to promote diversity there?

Yup. America's future is bright when our brightest young minds can't think with the insight used by kindergarteners to tract the toy prize from a box of cereal.

It seems that there will never be a shortage of "educated" minds to fill government posts.

So...the students' refusal to sign a petition requiring the enforcement of affirmative action policies on the local basketball team is evidence that they're not thinking?

Get a grip, man!

Well yes, as your inability to grasp the point evinces your own lack of thought. See?

Affirmative action depends upon the support of people who either believe they will gain a direct benefit from it, or those attempt to boost their self regard by taking pseudo-moralistic stands that they believe will cost them nothing.

The college students place value upon their sports teams, lacking as children do a developed sense of priorities. Therefore the instantly abandon the support for Affirmative Action which they had expresses mere seconds before.

I hope I have simplified this sufficiently.

Perhaps you should spend some time attempting to free yourself from your juvenile and pedantic mindset - then you'll understand that granting someone an opportunity to participate in anything that person is capable of participating in has absolutely nothing to do with putting the best 5 players out on the court for a basketball game - or hiring the best car mechanic you can afford to work on your car - or hiring the best brain surgeon you can afford to perform brain surgery on you.

But you won't...you'll just come up with some pedantic and snarky reply because that's your field of expertise.

So, let me get this straight.
This is what the students believe,
When it comes to college entrance based upon academic performance, affirmative action should be used, thus sometimes the best student may not be allowed entrance to the school.
But.
When it comes to sport team participation based upon athletic ability, affirmative action should never be considered, thus the best athlete should get on the team.

And they think the first point is OK?
Hopefully before they leave college they will acquire an education, because they seem to be pretty damn ignorant.

Basketball teams aren't anywhere near the size of college student bodies. The whole point of affirmative action is that the negative effect of a lesser qualified individual getting a job that the person is fully capable of performing isn't as important as the positive effect of demonstrating that the amount of light that a person reflects has no bearing on that person's abilities.

Having said that, I personally believe that affirmative action has done all that it can do and in fact is now actually doing more harm than good, and that it's time to get rid of it.

If affirmative action is good for one thing then it is good for everything, but as we can see most of the young people interviewed see differently. Selective quotas is nothing more than discrimination.

LOL That doesn't surprise me. So many people just jump on bandwagons without thinking it through. AA is one of those dumbass bandwagons.

What would surprise me (and make me smile) is if even one of those students actually thought about AA after that and decided that forced discrimination maybe wasn't such a good idea after all.

The whole point of affirmative action is to buy votes for cynical Left Wing Parties and their minions.
