Maybe he's smart enough to realize that we need to drive up consumer credit rates to where people will stop using credit for stupid crap and start saving for stupid crap instead. It's doubtful, since he's a congresscritter, but one can hope.

I truly have no idea what you're talking about.

I would be very afraid of the unintended consequences on this or any other financial matter that the Senate in general, Dodd in specific, concern themselves with. I can predict that credit will tighten up, (as it should for credit cards), some group like ACORN, ACLU, or the Rainbow Push will cry, "racism" or someother unfair practice on the part of the finacial institution, then some dumbarss congress person like Barny Frank will change the laws to force lending at a lower rate with a lower threashold to obtain a creditcard. Read, "community reinvestment act".

I have paid way more than my "fair share" of overdraft fees, (usally for a 4.00 coffee) late payment fees, had my interest rates increased and any other penalty that the banks could think of. In the end, all of those actions were in responce to my mismangement of funds, intentional and otherwise.
