Answer 1#

Much more than you expected.

The job what I'm doing makes me touch lots of people. Kinds of peolpe who engage in kinds of works.

I, a trader purchasing specially the articles of luxury from the owner who wanted to exchange them for cash, obviously felt that the rich people who wanted to sell their luxury goods became more recently.

Some sold their advanced smartphones for paying housing mortgage and others sold their dowries for raising their children.

And the rest sold their luxury cars or watches to pay the wages.

... ...

Mojority of the above who were selling their luxury goods were traders.

If the employers didn't live well, the number of unemployed will be more, after all both of them were dependent upon each other.

To live was hard in 2020, harder in 2021, and will be extremely hard in 2022.

Since the increments in the high-speed development period has halted, and the general plan the authority drew up is to maintain the social stabilization, in a word, it gets harder to live in a succession of following years.

Because of the high rate of unemployed, lots of people start to turn to delivery business, including deliver goods, foods, and humans (online hailing taxi).

Before the people who engaged in deliver business were the middle-aged in their forties. In such an embarrassed age group they're faced with many difficulties to find out a job, so they had to turn to delivery business as a temporary way to win their bread. But nowadays the young people, most in their 20s, and women start to play a key role in the delivery business.

Answer 2#

My wife and I are both unemployed now. Due to a little bit of stored-up-cash, both of us are also not in anxiety. But the delivery people of Mei Tuan, a delivery company, open up my eyes.

Firstly, female delivery people have accounted for 30% this year, and the number was zero last year. Normally I order 1 to 4 meals through the delivery app a day.

Secondly, I've met the disabled delivery people who had communication difficulties. One of them was even unable to communicate with me fluently. He could not finish a whole sentence without a pause, nor dealt with his smartphone well, which caused one hour delay to my meal. Sure I didn't mind and I would order my meal one hour earlier next time.

Thirdly, the delivery people who can't use the smartphones gets more and more. I'm living in a rented house which is in the prosperous area of one of Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. Forgive me that I can't tell you the definite name of the city. I think they couldn't be lost in the area, but lots of delivery delays this year were because the delivery people were unable to use the map of the navigation app properly. One of them impressed me so much because he called me 5 times to ask me how to find out my place. I kept to tell him that one or two schools and a police station were nearby and he could ask the direction to students or cops, but he said he dare not. So I had to direct him step by step on the way to my place. Thanks for being familiar with the road, I was afraid that I would miss my meal at that time.

Finally and the most surprisedly, before the delivery people ususally delivered my meals, watching TikTok when they're in the elevator. Now I've seen several of them were studying English or computer programming. My sisters and brothers, don't study both of them please. I, having studied computer programming and graduated from the college abroad with high scores, couldn't find out a proper job this year. You might give me a like on StackOverFlow. There're a few were studying the junior accountant courses. Although watching TikTok were still the main stream, the proportion of them was declining. A bro who also impressed me very much would hand off the phone if I didn't picked up the phone after the bell rang 5 times. I knew he must be a senior salesman before as soon as hearing his voice. A senior salesman started to deliver meals at present day.

Therefore the other businesses would progress better if the delivery business was like this?

I take it a lot of people don't cook but order out? Is that because of quarantine or am I missing something?
Here people received compensation for not being able to work and some extra money for coping with the situation. Just prior to the pandemic everyone in the middle of our economy was rushed and frustrated also making low wages. The pause gave some of them time to consider how to work from home or move to a job they enjoyed more with better compensation.

Just prior to the pandemic the US had the best wage growth in more than a decade disportionately to the benefit of low wage earners, median family income passed $60K for the first time, record low unemployment for Blacks and Hispanics, and overall full employment according to economist definitions.

Under the Biden administration millions of Americans have quit their jobs to live on the welfare state while employers cry for workers even with inflated wages offered. Meanwhile runaway inflation sends prices soaring as an over-regulated supply-chain produces empty store shelves. But hey, no worries, the Federal government is gonna take care of us the Biden administration has done such a fine job so far.

1. coming from 40 years of depressed wages and anti union propaganda, most struggling workers did not even get on their feet before the pandemic hit.
2. Median is not the same as medium or even average.
3. just look at the amount of new influencers and youtubers. also at the artisan businesses taking off. also welfare is not available to anyone but the poor or disabled. it is hardly enough to live on. you may find some cases where people scam the system. but the money we are talking about is hardly worth it and if you have that much brain power you will put it to use making far more, which is what a lot of people have done.
A company my eldest daughter used to work for has no work from home option since 2020. She moved to one that did, same type of business, more pay.
supply chain issues are world wide issues also truck drivers are scarce compared to before covid.
the best thing a person can do especially in America since we seem to set a standard, is to get vaccinated.

You mean Trump reversed a 40 year trend of wage growth depression? How horrible. Bad Orange man.

Median is a measure of the central tendency where 50% of the observations are above and the remaining are below the median value. It's much less subject to influence by outlier values than mean or average.

Your opinion that life dependent on the Federal welfare state is hard pales into insignificance in light of the millions of Americans quitting their jobs and dropping out of the labor force to live on Kim Jung Bidenís generous application of our tax money. It's not that he is satisfied with current revenues, he is mortgaging our children's, great grandchildren's and beyond to debt service on a staggering scale of trillions.

You don't have to be very poor to get Bidenís Covid relief or receive child refundable tax credit payments. Over a $ billion in Covid relief payments have been lost to fraud. That is probably lower than actuality.

how did trump bring up wages? he never did that, people's pushing and boycotting did that.
besides why would a man who hired illegals then refused to pay them care about a living wage?
it may have begun to happen under trump but try as he might he was no king.
yes the oRANGE, ADORAL loving con man is very, very bad. So bad that his foreign policies are causing immense worry as we speak.

In my earnest wondering, whoever is on the throne, I mean being president of the US, he/she must be criticized, but as soon as he/she has been relieved by the successor, people start to cherish the benefits he/she brought.

I usually do. But Donald Trump was not even a Republican (the party he switched to in order to run. He was a life long Democrat and caused so much chaos during the primary and during his Presidency he is honestly thought of by most Americans as a prolific con man. Sadly the party he led to power is clinging to him because their values have disappeared.
If he wins again it will be because of gerrymandering and voter suppression.

No, I don't think that you're missing something. Indeed, the young people who are working in a metropolis such as Beijing or Shanghai, they must have a outside meal during a day, which might be lunch to a great extend because majority of companies don't have cafeterias. They might eat together in a small restaurant and then pay off his/her portion of the total meal expense which depends on the result after dividing the total by the number of the people eating the lunch afterwards. If they order a takeaway, eating his/her fill would cost them CNY15 or so and sometimes cheaper because of kinds of coupons in the takeaway app. And there're so many young people in these metropolises, so it would be a huge numbers who would order takeways even if one people just order one takeaway per day. I can tell the workers in their middle ages would bring their lunch from their own homes and microwave it at noon break, but young people, especially those who like salty and greasy, would eat a takeaway at noon break at least. I go out to work at almost 7 a.m. everyday, and on the way through the family dormitory buildings I can hear people cook their lunch that would be taken to their workplaces in the kitchen. As for the replier in the second answer, he remained anonymous, so I can't guess out what kinds of social status he and his wife are in, without a doubt they're rich and well-educated though. I don't know why a rich and well-educated person would order takeaways frequently, however there's a trend here that we're not supposed to nose about the style of their lives among those top-level workers such as doctors, accountants, professionals and lawyers etc. So I can't reply to them in the comments section that eating takeaways frequently are unhealthy and a waste of money. If I did so, I would incur the wrathy cyber citizens.
