Because of a company moving their production from overseas to here, I changed jobs and have managed to double my income.

this is good news. now if we don't elect more republicans to screw it up again maybe we'll see a booming economy again for the working class in my lifetime. that would be a gift

Ummm, the reason we have this booming economy is republicans. If we manage not to return the democrats to office, this might continue.

There are several points on both good and bad.... wage increases are good, but prices (inflation) are too. Housing prices have gone up, but mortgage interest rates have too. Unemployment is low, but staffing has become a problem regardless of the wages being offered....

The one positive, it may keep the Democrats from gaining enough seats to cause stoppage.

I think inflation has been increasing in reality for a long time. the advantage of increased interest would be savings accounts meaning something again, but we gotta long way to go for that much. Housing prices have gone up due to mortgage criminal banking practices, lobbyists. yes. they should have started at the bottom like most people after the collapse. , but mortgage interest rates have too. I just started understanding that many gen Xrs bought houses at adjustable rates. that's bad yes Unemployment is low, but staffing has become a problem regardless of the wages being offered.... why we need comprehensive immigration reform BUT before that we need to upgrade our education system to include real-world vo tech training assisted by actual business partners.

The R's raised our deficit to the third level of the atmosphere.
We need to raise taxes on income over $1 mill and graduate thate out for the mega-wealthy. Welfare work going on in different stages is good. But sooner or later we will have to raise taxes on everyone to kill the deficit and pay our bills. If we get rid of the swamp creatures maybe military spending could be audited and waste eliminated, also personal gain (theft) from said creatures.

Not going to try and parse out your comments from my post, but bottom line is, no, we do not need to raise taxes on a specific group - if taxes are to be raised, it should be across the board.

But first and foremost, spending needs to be cut - external (foreign spending) and internal (domestic). The only federal spending we should be seeing is military and infrastructure - the rest, including unemployment, healthcare, assistance programs, should all be at state level.

Locally, it's been a seller's market, and prices have been up quite a bit. That has tempered a bit with the rise in interest rates. November 2017, rates ran around 4.1%, they are now up to 4.88%. With just about anyone with a piece of property and a shack or better on it, it's been put on the market, and because of it, the competition for buyers has increased, which means prices will come down a bit to entice those buyers.

That doesn't have that much direct impact on wages though, other than people who before couldn't afford to buy, may be able to negotiate a purchase. There is a lack of rentals also, so that market is still strong.
