No.....

Not what so ever anywhere.......

In the 80s I remember 2.25 per hour.....

When I went back to school I worked PT at a gym and that was at $4.00 per hour in 1989.....

I would work 5 hours for $20 back then after school every night.....

No way that was good enough to get you through till you finished college or got a better career. If not for a wife and her added income it would have been an impossible task finacially.....

minimum wages are for kids not adults, stop pretending that type of labor is more valuable.....

89 wasn't great but your wife's income helped you. Nowadays it takes both working to try to make ends meet. I honestly don't see how anyone makes it on 7 or 8 dollars an hour. people do get room mates for years id they are lucky and find one sane who pays his bills.
One reason you made so little is whoops minimum wage did not go up from 1981 till 1990. What happened to the cost of living at that time?

Reagan's trickle down theory.

Vice Magazine is an entertainment magazine, not something that should be relied upon for hard news.

On the contrary this article sites books, magazine and newspaper articles on the subject. And each of those sources site their own sources.

Besides which, all you have to do is stick your head up. But there's your documentation anyhow.

Reagan's trickle down theory.
I sure wasn't making 7 or 8 dollars an hour from Reagan's trickle down (so called) economy, but then again I had a Real Job!

my husband made 16 something an hour as lead man on a crew. specific type of construction. but when Reagan was in office a few years we had to move all over the country chasing a wage that was decent. The wages in many states dropped in the mid to late eighties. And no the minimum wage under Reagan was not 7 or 8. It is that today. Reagan never signed to raise it and I don't think Bush elder did either. So all those years with out raise in minimum depressed most wages. We were not just starting out in the 80s. I pity those who were.

But what they CAN'T factor in are things that didn't exist (at least from a majority standpoint) such as cellphones, computers, cable/broadband bills, Netflix, etc....

A standard Bell telephone bill was $15 a month. But no that did not change the way people can survive. We always had fads. CB radios. Tape decks, mini tape players and so on. Deregulation killed a lot but there were other factors. One was that entry level pay was stagnant for 10+ years while the real col was not. And they're lying that we do not have inflation today. Look at meat prices.
