Economics isn't most peoples reason for wanting marijuana to become legal, but each state that does allow it will gather riches...

Like the wave of legalizing gambling/ casinos & Riverboats, the first States to do so benefit the most. Once a majority of States do so, it's just another industry creating wealth accumulation along with other problems.

That said, anytime vast amounts of cash are transacted, the economy generally benefits.

My thoughts on this are simple. If the time to legalize MJ has come, then the time to repeal MJ laws has come. Until that happens the states are violating the law and should be dealt with accordingly.

That's also my thoughts on sanctuary anything.

IMO Congress is allowing both to happen so as to not have to deal with the problem.

my thoughts are the vast majority is for legalization of marijuana and now the true benefits to certain health conditions are being shown.
However it is done, cannabis should be moved off the narcotic banned list and further federally decriminalized. For govt officials and big pharma to dictate that this will not be the case is to defy the will of a free people and put us actually under an oligarchy many of whose members, we did not elect to represent us.

Then you need to talk to your congressmen and get them to introduce repeal of drug laws legislation. As it stands now, MJ is illegal in the U S.

Yes I know this. I manage a social media page related to legalization in a particular state and I always caution about this.
A bill has been sponsored but not brought to the floor. :wave

On this topic the GOP has it wrong..

Nor would one pass as the GOP isn't ready to accept the reality related to some situations.

Most don't want their kids doing it... Like some of those kids haven't done some smoking.

Reality is much better than what you want to believe..

While I do support the medicinal use of marijuana, and I don't mean a free for all, I am not in support of legalizing it without some major restrictions and laws in place. Age, place of use, driving while intoxicated, etc. Just as heavy fines and penalties as alcohol, perhaps even stronger, because I don't feel the penalties for DWI are harsh enough.

Yes, I see it coming that it will be decriminalized, and that's a tax benefit to the government. A possible new area of industry growth, as long as it is regulated like food crops, along with chemical restrictions.
