Default The Death of cash again predicted

Well it has been a little while sense we last heard that CASH would be going the way of the doe doe bird.

Yet I bet most people did like me and ignored it. But even as Trump is trying to step back from the Obama era Dodd's banking Act, which was hell bent on doing just that.
The trend is still there and big money banks want it. So they can gain more control over those they serve.... And also big brother of 1984 fame.. Yep our great Govt. wants it because then any time you spend yu can be traced. Imagine going out to work, But you stop for a coffee and then at your special bakery a treat to go with the coffee. Now your off to work. Nothing abnormal right.
But after work you want that :toke and it hasn't become legal. So you need to barter with the dealer. What does he need in the price range your looking to spend. Aww his babies and girlfriend have needs, But your a single man.

Now are you getting the entire picture?

So just maybe one should have better knowledge of what lies ahead.

I read the one with BBC ahead of the title. And scanned aa few others. Which is wise to do as different information is gathered..

As far as I can think of the only time I use cash is I keep a 10 dollar bill in my bicycle bag so I can stop and have a couple Guinness and leave a tip during happy hour at the Mellow Mushroom after a long ride. Why do you think a dollar bill is different than a dollar on your debit card?

Well for one thing one is a tough paper, colored green & white, with numbers telling it's amount. While the other is plastic, several different colors, with numbers telling an account number that needs a pin number t use or an extra push of a button after swiping it in the card reader...

Does that beat your to come?

The reason it is different to use a card. When one uses it can be traced and records can be subpoenaed. With cash there is no record. Also when using a card the credit card processor is going to charge the owner of the machine upwards of 3% of every transaction.

Yea but...now days I can use a debit card just about everywhere except the damn coke machines at work. One would really have to be dedicated to drop off the grid now days.

I've used a debit card on a coke machine. At the bar I do have people that prefer to use cash. And I like that. Because like I said on every CC transaction there is a 3% charge.

I guess I should have placed this in bold....

I never use cash & coin anymore. It's fast becoming a cashless society.

Well, I seldom use caseh-except to pay my housekeeper, once a week.

I use, instead, a credit card--for groceries, casual (and fast-food) dining; gasoline; and just about anything else.

But I have it set up for automatic debit of the full amount each month, so that I am not paying any interest on it (and, even more importantly, I do not have debt that just snowballs on top of itself).

I figure the credit-card company is still not hurting--it gets its two or three percent (whatever it can negotiate for) off the merchant's end of the transaction--so it is doing okay.

Then you willing allow both government and marketers to know your spending habits, what and where you eat, medications, hobbies, etc.

Your choice. Me, I'm not so willing to provide all that.
