So we are to believe that if we stop paying for those who can not pay for themselves, then some how we will end up paying 25% more for insurance?

That is not logical, nor do I believe it. Something smells here...

The 24 million did not have insurance before Obama care. It was a freebee Democratic party vote buying scheme. And it didn't work this time.

Go try and bankrupt another country and see what they do. Money doesn't grow on trees like you seem to think it does. Due to the lack of discipline on the left, now we have to rein in the spending of the last 8 years of a fool in office, bent on the destruction of our economy, and the take over of the U.N. of Global Governance.

The left has gone mad.

Regards, Kirk

Kirk, if we, that's you and I, end up paying for those who don't want to pay their own bills, the number will be far higher than 25%.

The Kaiser Healthcare / Insurance conglomerate says that Trump supporters (older/rural/white males) will be hit the hardest under Trumpcare.

Poetic justice

The House plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act would hit one group of voters especially hard: older, rural voters who were crucial to President Donald Trump's victory in 2016.

The House plan would offer tax credits based on income and age, but the net effect would be a drop in federal subsidies for people who are older, who have a lower income and who live in high-premium areas, according to an analysis from the Kaiser Family Foundation. When you put those elements together, Trump's voters appear to take the biggest hits.

Older voters were a big part of Trump's winning 2016 coalition. He won 52 percent of the vote among all voters 45 or older.

A county-level analysis from KFF looked at how the tax credits for various age and income groups in the House plan compared to the subsidies offered by the Affordable Care Act. When you compare those numbers to the 2016 election results, a pattern emerges. Counties that voted for Trump would see a bigger drop in the tax credits designed to make insurance premiums more affordable.

Take, for example, a 60-year-old individual with an income of $40,000 and a mid-level health insurance plan. A person falling into that category would see a decline in their federal tax credit in 93 percent of the counties that voted for Trump. That same person would see a decline in subsidies in 81 percent of the counties that voted for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

The size of the decline would be steeper in Trump counties, as well. The median county decline in assistance would be $4,190. Among Clinton counties, the median decline would be $2,280.

But hey. The rich are going to get their tax credit, right?

Did you have a topical comment or are you just interested in ad hominem attack?

Your brain is getting smaller. I have a degree and was compensated fairly handsomely in my line of employment. I am also fortunate to have immediate family members in the medical professions.

More to the point:

Quote:
Enrollees in their 50s and early 60s benefited from Obamacare because insurers could only charge them three times more than younger policy holders. The bill would widen that band to five-to-one. That would mean that adults ages 60 to 64 would see their annual premiums soar 22%, or nearly $3,200, to nearly $18,000, according to a study by the Milliman actuarial firm on behalf of the AARP Public Policy Institute. Those in their 50s would be hit with a 13% increase, or just over $1,500, and pay an annual premium of $12,800. Also, the GOP bill doesn't provide them as generous tax credits as Obamacare. A 60-year-old making $40,000 would get only $4,000 from the Republican plan, instead of an average subsidy of $6,750 from the Affordable Care Act, according the Kaiser study.
Quote:
The legislation would eliminate two taxes that Obamacare levied on the wealthy to help pay for the law. Nearly everyone in the Top 1%, who earn more than $774,000 a year, would enjoy a hefty tax cut, averaging $33,000, according to the non-partisan Tax Policy Center. Those in the Top 0.1% would get an average tax cut of about $197,000. Obamacare allowed insurance companies to deduct only $500,000 of their executives' pay as a business expense. The GOP bill would repeal that limitation, starting in 2018. Top insurers pay their leaders millions in compensation every year so this provision could mean a nice tax savings for the companies.
Who wins and who loses under Obamacare replacement bill

No more employer healthcare/insurance plans. The Congressional Budget Office projects 24 million more uninsured under Trumpcare in 2026 than there would be under Obamacare. Good luck with all this Kirk. You best have a ton of money saved up for your healthcare costs at retirement age. And don't forget, Trump and the GOP are currently busy scheming to screw you out of your Social Security/Medicare contributions also ... those dollars will be going directly to the wealthy Top 1% as tax breaks.
