they gave us a depression. with the help of goeorge bush and barak obama it is only a deeeeep recession. the last depression took 10 years for the stock market to post the same as before 1929. we have already cleared that hurdle but there need to be impetus to get us rolling. like the states had as a 'mean time' measure till a major reconstruct is done. some of them are doing better but we must get the rest of the stimulus passed.
if private rich people were going to create jobs HERE don't you think we would have seen that already?
your mind set seems so closed you cannot see reasonable explanations as anything but a commie conspiracy. As mikeyy says WE ARE THE government. and we need a NEW economy. YOUR PARTY and mine at the time KILLED THE OLD ONE and in the mean time life goes on and we ain't gettin that world back again EVER.
anyway I'm tired of arguing with you.
What new economy are you thinking here? An economy where you, the poor can make it big or are you pushing the economy where those that make it just pay for those that don't.

We don't need a new economy, we need one that the government isn't the deciding factor in who get's to live or who dies with tax payer dollars.

We need capitalism. Not crony capitalism. That alone will fix everything.

You spout talking points from a drone master somewhere. With a good bit of your own angst thrown in.
we have capitalism; it isn't going anywhere. the inventions and services of the past cannot sustain us in a modern world. capitalism doesn't fix what thieving broke. rules against the same will help but in the mean time as I said the tanks and pipes we built in the past wont sustain our grandchildren into steady employment. We must make sure we are educated and not everyone needs college but probably the people who invent the next thing that puts people to work will need a college background.
Right now energy technology is all we have on the horizon so lets go with that and create even more employment than what is creeping back. as well we need the internet in every nook and cranny where people live. etc etc

This is not your grandfathers economy. Those jobs are gone gone gone. don't believe me look at Detroit. What built Detroit? WWI and the WWII. the car business booming cause not everybody had one yet. computer makers are smarter than that. and so are car makers now. We have to build a new economy, friend. Based on a new set of inventions, wants , needs, and innovation and hard work. If consumers don't want or need it we will continue to slide.
That is why Obama has been stressing wind and solar and stuff. These are new technologies that have a market in today's world and save us money several ways. money spent to defend oil wells and money saved on blackmail to fuel in the ME and domestic.
Education is stressed too because we will need to know how to do more high tech things than work in a nut and bolt factory or pull the hot metal off the line.
Right now today I see the difference in these two parties as one critical and sad for the past. And the other saying this is America we have a bright future. let's get to work and build to it.
Obama's green energy program is not stressing new technology or innovation, it is providing subsidies to nonviable manufacturing companies like Soilyndra. It is the same policy that wrecked the Spanish economy. Four more years of payoffs to politically well connected cronies will not build a new economy. The only thing it will produce is more national debt and higher energy costs.

Half of today's recent college graduates cannot find jobs in their field of study but the Democrat solution is to use Federal dollars to create more of them. It is a "solution" designed to produce more voters dependent on government handouts, Democrat's core voting block. What percentage of newly minted college graduates with an education major and social sciences minor are equipped to teach the math, science, business and technology skills necessary to build a new economy? But Obama's economic policy is based on producing more of them using government subsidies.

Only about 8% of Obama's JOBS bill is infrastructure spending. The lions share is devoted to pumping up state employee payrolls just like the stimulus did. More government jobs equals more loyal Obama voters but not a sustainable economy.
