More farmers are growing corn this year, so you have more productive acres with less bushels per acre. Thus the 8th largest harvest (total acres of production) and the lowest harvest rate (bushels per acre) in 17 years. Simple math and no hill for an old farm boy.

Harvest is the amount of bushels

Harvest is the TOTAL amount of bushels, not the bushels per acre. Two different animals and the reason for your confusion.

OK, I did. So what in there changes what I said about the crop and bushels per acre? This is basic math mikey and not the kind of fuzzy math Democrats like to use.

Are you just trying to be contrary?

You are silly, This isn't partisan. Nobody said anything about bushels per acre but you.

Because that is what farmers rely on when computing their crop earnings. When you go from 200 bushels an acre to 75 bushels an acre and have 1,000 acres planted, you have lost over $1,000,000.00 because of the drought. That ain't chickenfeed.

Nevermind, you are missing the entire point.

But American farmers are still expected to produce their eighth-largest harvest ever, and while there's sure to be a rise in prices at the grocery stores, there's little risk of a failed harvest that would lead to shortages on the shelves.

I answered a direct question from you and you say I am missing the point? Note bolded sentences in both our posts.
