But the homeless woman poured her bag full of pennies on the alter. It was all that she had.
Who loved God more?
Who loves this country more?
How is this relevant? Who gives a **** who loved their mythological figures more? And loving one's country has nothing to do with the tax rate.

The middle class.
In 2001, President Bush cut taxes on the middle class...

Those making between $35,350 and $85,650 had their tax rate cut from 28% to 25%...

Those making between $85,650 and $178,650 had their tax rate cut from 31% to 28%...

You just said the middle class is paying "their fair share", so that means they were paying too much beforehand...

I never thought I'd see you thank Bush...

And unlike the left these days she actually donated something without causing riots demanding more from Pharisee.

And Obama has cut taxes. So what...They are the only class paying a fair share. They support the world.

And here the Pharisees are on Wall Street looking down at the little people.
You know I never realized till conversing with you just how philosophical is the mind set of a conservative. I am more of a realist. No wonder I can't vote Republican any more.

They flat out told me that I have zero recourse available because once they say "case closed", there's no reopening it. Whether that's true or not doesn't matter since I don't have the resources available to fight the government. I could pay a lawyer, but it would cost me more than what I would get back. So why bother? I'm just hoping the state sees the mistake before THEY take my next refund.

The reason I mentioned my independent contracting was because of all this crap with the IRS, I am now MUCH more diligent about everything. I always filed EZ forms. I never did deductions. I never did expenses. Nothing. Straight up filing, no fancy ****. But, since they have ****ed me over, I now take every damn deduction I can find. I itemize everything. I keep all receipts when it's related to anything I'll be doing on my taxes. I make sure that I pay them as little as is humanly possible. But I never would have done that if they hadn't stolen from me. I mentioned it because there seems to be an undertone in this thread and others that when corporations do that, they're evil. I just disagree.

Well I certainly don't begrudge anyone a legal deduction. I think it's more the rate itself that has some people in a scowly mood. The darn feds are looking to raise revenue, and where is the first place they look? SS which comes out of payroll tax and has nothing to do with the deficit. Some of us are just saying hey if you know you need revenue it's like where do you look for money on an individual basis? Go down to senior centers and put out a can or up to your ritzy friends' house? We notice the 1% don't pay as much of a percentage of their income as the middle class. Both get deductions so that part is moot as I see it.

If I'd used an Aesop's fables would that have been better? How about Poor Richard's quotes?
