Post 61% Of Voters Blame Republicans Not Obama For The Recession

Buried in the latest McClatchy/Marist poll was an interesting nugget. Although Americans are upset about the economy, 61% of those polled still think that Obama inherited the recession.

According to the poll Obama only has a 37% approval rating on his handling of the economy. He scores even worse on the issue of the deficit with a 61% disapproval rating, but his favorable rating remains at 50%, and when asked if the economy is his fault, or he inherited it, 61% of those polled expressed the belief that the president inherited the economy.

While the first two numbers should give the Obama campaign cause for concern and the second number will be the likely reason why any deal to raise the debt ceiling will also involve spending cuts, it is the last two numbers above that pose the biggest problem for Republicans ahead of 2012.
61% Of Voters Blame Republicans Not Obama For The Recession

The Repubs keep trying to sell their song and dance that Obama is to blame for everything...
The people aren't buying it.

If the public heard the Dems and the media (redundancy alert) screaming "Nothing's Obama's fault!!!!" for 2+ years, I'd imagine most non-politicos would buy it...

What recession? Obama told us we were out of Recession a year ago. If we're in one now, then clearly it's his.

And here's why we on the right may safely dismiss this concern:

What this tells us, it that Obama is seen as having inherited problems that he is incompetent to deal with.

I would like to see a pol on who people think can resolve the crises.

I'd like to see a survey group give the DETAILS of the survey...which McClatchy does NOT...

It simply says that 1003 people were surveyed and 801 of them were registered voters...It does NOT mention what the breakdown is of those surveyed...

Most survey groups have CONSISTENTLY skewed the results by asking the questions to many more Democrats than Republicans...an example is here, where Democrats outweighed Republicans in an ABC/WaPo survey by a full 10%...

In McClatchy's case, they don't even bother to let the reader see that breakdown...

As I recall, Mr Obama applied for the job. During his interview process (campaign) he said he would fix it. He hasn't fixed it, in fact the exact methods he claimed would fix the problem have likely exacerbated the problem see figure 1 on page 5.
When my auto mechanic fails to fix my flat tire, I don't give him the opportunity to fix my brakes.

The new house Republicans also promised to fix it. Why haven't they?

And what exactly have the Republicans proposed that is supposedly better?

Americans Trust Governors, Business Leaders Most on Economy
In the poll for who have confidence for in economic recommendations, Obama still beats the Republicans in congress (who ironically beat the Democrats in Congress).
50% Obama
44% Republicans in Congress

It's funny how the right-wing SCREAM that the government should not be involved in business...
... but then with Obama, they just ask why he hasn't fixed it yet.

That is a contradiction that Repubs just cannot address...

Nooooo...
Don't look behind that curtain!
Just blindly ignore that the Repubs have offered nothing better, and grant them full control so they can continue to do nothing but blame Obama.

Oh, it's quite simple to address. It's much the way that a parent, nearing the end of his patience might rhetorically question a naughty child who though he could fix your pocket watch, was told not to try, but did so anyway.

Standing over the little miscreant and the dusting of springs, cog wheels and watch hands, "well, you said you could fix it, have you fixed it yet?" The biggest difference between the kid and the President, is that the kid would know that it was time to give up.
