A-ha! Viola! It's only 38.2%. Not the 40% you claimed!

Thanks for the info...

That was in 2008
In 2007, it was 40.42%
In 2006, 39.89%
In 2005, 39.38%

Taking an average, I’d say that’s pretty damn near 40%, and in my post, I said “around 40%”.

Thank you for posting that, Salty. It's nice to see that someone understood that throwing statistics out there is one thing, identifiers another.

Now, define 'rich', and explain why they should be taxed (penalized) more than anyone else.

I find it interesting that Ryan got booed by his "own side".

I guess cons are people too!

It's because alot of people identify with specific ideas, but they don't really identify with actions. I have alot of friends who are living on government disability checks, and they vote R. They identify with the ideas pushed on the Republican platform, but they can't translate the message into how it would really affect them personally. Oftentimes, choosing a political side amounts to choosing the lesser of two evils. Pick your poison.

The "lesser of two evils" is still "evil".

You're right.

Got any options?

Libertarianism and personal responsibility would be nice.
