IRS, and not back taxes, current taxes. why should they be permitted to levy assets worth 2,900 times the supposed amount owed, especially when you are corresponding with them on the subject? If states are not allowed to seize assets worth more than the 'crime', and that is a proven crime, why should the IRS be allowed to extort by threat of seizure?

so you dispute the tax they said you owe?
and it is my understanding that this is related to states but who knows if it could be used as a precedent for federal seizure. I would like to end eminent domain.
if a town, county or the feds or state needs to build a highway or whatever with as much unpopulated land as we have they can damned well go around or pay what you ask.

Eminent domain has a public need. Without it we would not have an Interstate system. That it's often abused is another subject. CAF is another matter. It's seizure of property without due process and a violation of the 4th. In some cases the 5th.

Having been around for both my opinion is that that would not bother me.

Without public roads a bottle of Daniels would take weeks to travel to Idaho by covered wagon and cost a couple hundred once it got there.

Civil Asset Forfeiture.
