Judge Brett Kavanaugh is innocent
Judge Brett Kavanaugh is innocent because our legal system defines that a person is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. He has not been proven guilty in a court of law.
But let me take this some place that I haven't seen any media source go to. Let's travel back in time and for the sake of argument, assume that a 17 year old Brett did accost a 15 year old Christine. Now, for the sake of this argument, let's suppose that Christine actually went to the police and filed an assault report. Let's assume that Brett was charged with the crime of assault or attempted rape. Let's assume that young Brett was found guilty of assault or attempted rape. Had that actually happened, young Brett could have had is criminal record sealed at age 18, never to be revealed again. Christine is scum. Diane Feinstein is scum. The press is scum. Judge Brett Kavanaugh is innocent because our legal system defines that a person is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. He has not been proven guilty in a court of law. |
Re: Judge Brett Kavanaugh is innocent
I'm 90% there...
According to your own logic, Hillary Clinton is also innocent, and, at the moment, so is Harvey Weinstein...:yes But there are two courts...The legal court and the court of public opinion, and whether or not the former is used, the latter always is...:yes Unfortunately, the latter is completely subjective...One person can objectively go through all accounts, weigh the evidence, and come to a reasoned decision, while the person next to him comes to the same conclusion based on the simple fact they don't like the party the accused represents...:yes :( |
Re: Judge Brett Kavanaugh is innocent
It's not my logic, it's our legal system.
Brett Kavanaugh, Hillary Clinton, Harvey Weinstein, and yes, even Orenthal James Simpson are all not guilty even though only one has been to court. |

Thanks to Democrats political machinations a recollection so vague, completely lacking corroboration of any kind and where the accuser wished to remain anonymous has been elevated into a war between the sexes. We literally have US Senators spouting incendiary gender warfare attacks such as "men always lie" and the "the accusation is true, because it is". But no Democrat identity politics hate fest is complete without an appeal to racism so, we here cries characterizing the old white men Republicans on the committee as unfair to the accuser by virtue of their age and race. :rolls Speaking in terms of legal standards for guilt and innocence for this unsupported accusation elevates it far above any consideration it merits based on evidence. :thumbsup The accusation is yet another example of the Resistance commitment to mindlessly attack the Trump administration by any means no matter the cost. :thumbsup |

The accuser is demanding that the accused testify first, WTF. Hey Christine, have you not seen the hours of testimony already given in the senate by Brett? He's already testified. Bring your lying ass to the senate and explain to America and the senate why you can remember some groping that took place in a house you can't remember, on a day you can't remember, at a location you can't remember, with friends you can't remember. You forgot to mention cocaine, the preferred drug of rich kids in that era. |
Re: Judge Brett Kavanaugh is innocent
17 years old?
I hate to bring up Judge Thomas and Anita Hill, but her accusations were public and over adult on the job harassment. Not high school activity. If this is all they've got IMO they are really hopelessly desperate. cough-Bill Clinton-cough- ok for pres-cough-but this guy-cough-not fit-cough-KWiley-cough-ABroaderick-cough-paulajones-cough- WTH? |
Re: Judge Brett Kavanaugh is innocent
Remember Democrats only have to peel off one or two Senate votes to kill the Kavanaugh nomination. One of the leading picks for flipping is AZ Senator Jeff Flake. McCain's protege hates Trump with a passion so intense it's easy to see him foregoing the opportunity to shift the court back to its role of interpreting the Constitution instead of rewriting it to spite Trump.
Flake withdrew from the primary after it became clear he had no chance of winning the Republican nomination thanks in part to Trump pushing back against his incessant often personal attacks on the President. But Flake's ego wouldn't allow him to step down immediately even after it was clear he'd lost the confidence of the voters back home. He's even been cruelly manipulated with suggestions of a Presidential run despite his failure as a Senator. :o What better way to cap his Senate career than to scuttle Trump's nominee insuring elevation to heroic status by the Resistance media and an entre into lucrative speaking engagements for his hate filled rants. Just like McCain he would like to go out with his middle finger raised to Republicans. :eek |

Our criminal justice system does not determine "innocence" at all. There are only two verdicts, guilty and not guilty, both of which refer to the standard of guilt being established by the prosecution beyond a reasonable doubt before a person can be punished for a criminal act. A jury never declares the accused innocent of committing a criminal act. There isn't a presumption of innocence outside of the court room because the accused isn't facing any punishment by our government for their actions. Brett Kavanaugh will not be punished by our government if he's not confirmed to the Supreme Court. As with any job the responsibility to establish the qualifications of the applicant is with the applicant. Brett Kavanaugh as the obligation to establish he has both the judicial resume to qualify for the position of Supreme Court Justice, he has to establish that he has the judicial temperament for a position on the Supreme Court, and he has to establish that his character is untarnished by creditable allegations of misconduct that would preclude him from sitting on the Supreme Court. No one "deserves" a seat on the US Supreme Court. |
