Default Four senators urge Franken to reconsider resignation

See?!?! We made our guy resign without due process, so the other side should get rid of the president without due process!

What's that?...It didn't work?...

Oh, OK...Then we'll try to take that resignation back...

Four senators urge Franken to reconsider resignation

Quote:
At least four senators, including two Democrats, have reportedly said that Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) should reconsider his resignation.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) told Politico that the deluge of Democrats calling for Franken to resign was “the most hypocritical thing” he has “ever seen done to a human being.”

“What they did to Al was atrocious, the Democrats,”
Manchin added. “The most hypocritical thing I’ve ever seen done to a human being — and then have enough guts to sit on the floor, watch him give his speech and go over and hug him? That’s hypocrisy at the highest level I’ve ever seen in my life. Made me sick.”

Politico also spoke with sources familiar with a private conversation between Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and Franken in which Leahy told Franken that he regrets calling for him to resign.

Two other senators said they were rushed to weigh in as pressure on Franken mounted, according to the news outlet, which added that they said did not put enough care and thought into their statements.

Franken announced earlier this month that he would resign after allegations of sexual misconduct emerged. One woman said he forcibly kissed her during a USO tour, and at least two others said he groped them while taking photos when he was in office.

Four senators urge Franken to reconsider resignation
Maybe he spoke hastily trying to be a good soldier. He was scheduled to go before an ethics committee. It's his choice.

Franken didn't actually resign, he said he would resign in the coming days leaving open reconsideration. But that quickly got spun up into he resigned.

My prediction is he will not resign and the Democrats will welcome him back with open arms after the toothless ethics committee gives him a slap on the wrist with a wet noodle. Self righteous Democrats including Franken will continue to attack Trump for his alleged sexual misdeeds.

Franken's statements are nothing more than a party ploy. I said so from day one. For the moment, the Democrats see Jesus, and are trying to prove their virtue thus giving credulity to their personal attacks, and those allegations of sexual predation, on the President.

Franken's whole election and service as a Senator has been a big lie. Why would this be different?

I don't think anyone should lose their job or be denied a job over accusations. I think it sets a dangerous precedence by forcing or coercing people to resign over accusations. Now if that person admitted to doing to the accuser what the accuser alleges the accused did then that is a different story. I don't care for Al Franken, but I realize that what comes around goes around and that the left will use it to try to remove politicians they don't like with bogus accusations just like they are trying to do with Trump.

Exactly!...

The Dems want to have a bogus set of rules (with zero due process) and force Republicans to live by them...

You make this stop by trying them in a criminal court where they can be found guilty or not guilty and if found guilty sentenced to prison. You don't fire people, make people lose their jobs or deny them a job over unproven accusations. This isn't the dark ages where someone can just say you are a witch and we take their word for it without any actual proof. Using your logic Bill Clinton should have been forced out of office the second someone accused him of something.

Franken should resign because he's an idiot and a danger to the republic. He should not resign over unproven accusations.
