A little. I'd feel better if the ban was enforced as Trump originally wanted it.

I'd feel safer if Trump was banned

I don't know. I guess it depends on how many refugees you gave shelter to.

I would just note the following:

(1) The question of the substance of the matter--i.e. whether or not such a ban is wise--is not the central point here. Rather, the point is whether or not the president has the authority to issue such a ban.

(2) By temporarily reinstating the ban, the Supreme Court is obliquely indicating that it expects a full, nine-member ruling to go the administration's way. At least, that is my understanding.

(3) These are pretty much the same countries that then-President Obama targeted--without any similar outrage from liberals.

I think the lower courts problem with it was Trump himself called it a Muslim ban.

The lower courts problem was judge's that puffed themselves up to believe they ought to second guess the duly elected President. The Muslim ban objection was based on a judge appointing himself as a censor of campaign rhetoric with no reference to the actual executive order. Trump had long since changed from a Muslim ban to a temporary travel ban from specific countries but his royal highness on the Federal bench decided he knew better, not just than the Congress who gave the President the authority to protect the nation but that he could dictate political speech as well.

Oh, something else Trump lied about, so the Trumpsters just call it campaign rhetoric, not lies. Say what you want, the press don't need to lie.

Again, during the campaign Trump advocated a policy to temporarily ban Muslim immigration and travel to the US. Within a few weeks Trump gave another campaign talk where he first acknowledged the initial policy position then modified it to focus on travel from terrorist dominated countries. There is no broken campaign promise. Certainly no lying involved.

The lying is on the part of the Hawaiian Federal judge selectively focusing on Trump's initial campaign policy claiming that as a basis for issuing a stay while ignoring the content of the executive order.
