You SHOULD NOT play politics with the Court. You just shouldn't do it. If the President nominates a candidate that is well qualified and no overt disqualification, you confirm that candidate. You confirm that candidate because none of the Justices are as ideological as the media would have you believe. You have some Justices that are liberal on one issue, conservative on another, and as they continue to grow in the law and the laws change, so does their interpretation. It is part of becoming an unquestioned expert.

So no, I'm not mad the Democrats are "caving" because Gorsuch, at least at this juncture, seems to be well qualified without any overt disqualifications. But I firmly believe the Republicans will pay a heavy price for what they have done in politicizing the court.
Justices are not political? That is a joke, right?

ACLU lawyer Ruth Bader Ginseng always a reliable vote for the hard Left got caught playing politics in an interview.

Quote:
“I can’t imagine what this place would be — I can’t imagine what the country would be — with Donald Trump as our president,” she said. “For the country, it could be four years. For the court, it could be — I don’t even want to contemplate that.”
She later apologized but kept her seat on the SCOTUS bench where she is certain to cast her vote objectively.

Justice Kagan as solicitor general celebrated the passage of Obamacare but refused to recuse herself when cases involving the law came before the court. No surprise she voted in lock step with what the Obama administration wanted. Nope, no partisan politics there. Kagan was supremely unqualified but confirmed nonetheless by partisan Democrats voting as directed.

Even if we momentarily accept the highly questionable idea the Justices are immune from partisan politics, the confirmation process certainly is not. Democrat partisans added "borking" to our vocabulary with Ted Kennedy's reprehensible smears of nominee Robert Bork. Then there is the high tech lynching of Clarence Thomas for the crime of being Conservative while black. Democrats have shamelessly manipulated the confirmation process for partisan political ends but now whine about the so-called injustice done to Obama's nominee. The hypocrisy is blatant but hardly unexpected.

Came across this article...
In Gorsuch, Trump gave Democrats a gift. They should take it.

Interesting to note, that the Pro Trump New York Post is running this story:

Neil Gorsuch started Fascism Forever Club in high school | New York Post

Neil Gorsuch started Fascism Forever Club in high school
Quote:
Judge Neil Gorsuch, President Trump’s nominee for the Supreme Court, founded and led a student group called Fascism Forever Club while in an elite high school, according to a report.

The 49-year-old conservative Republican tapped to succeed the late Antonin Scalia launched the right-wing club as a freshman at the Jesuit all-boys Georgetown Preparatory School near Washington, DC, the Daily Mail reported.

He served as president of the group until he graduated in 1985, according to his yearbook, the paper reported.

“In political circles, our tireless President Gorsuch’s ‘Fascism Forever Club’ happily jerked its knees against the increasingly ‘left-wing’ tendencies of the faculty,” said the yearbook.

I'll take Flip-Flopping for $1,000, Alex.

What a bunch of horse****. He doesn't owe Merrick anything. Pick on McConnell if you want to bitch. For ****s sake, Gorsuch has nothing to do with Merrick. Maybe they should all step aside till we bring Bork back from the dead. Talk about getting ****ed over during a hearing. What the Dems did there, makes them the **** stains of society.

We'll confirm Bork, and place his body in the seat and assume he votes conservative every time.

I would like to see him asked his opinion on how Merrick was treated. I would like to know how much of a partisan dick he is.

From your own article.....I guess you omitted this for a reason

It was “a total joke,” said Steve Ochs, a history teacher at Georgetown Prep who was the student government advisor during Mr. Gorsuch’s junior and senior years at the school, told the publication.
I think ******* libs who have to go back 30, 40 or more years to try to smear a person are pathetic.

Actually, as I stated I just found it interesting that pro Trump paper was running that. But I'm glad you actually read something for once.

Of course I read the link, but seldom if ever read what you personally write as I like to read above the first grade level.
