Sorry Saltwn I'm not going to sit through almost an hour of someone's opinion about the economy. As for the "People should have their head examined before they can buy guns" video; I say NO WAY. All the government would have to do is say that anyone who wants a gun is paranoid for wanting one thus causing a Catch 22 type situation.

I feel sad cause I had hoped some would listen to at least some of it. The guy is very personable, and explains things pretty well. Does make you think about stuff.

Well and in a way I agree with you but what if we put it in the hands of professionals so that could not happen? btw governments already say felons cant have guns.

But back to the other video. Gosh I wish now I had just posted it without the other one. The other one would make you think back to the guy in the first talking about how ruling elite want to chip away at your gun rights because they too fear a bit of unrest is coming.
anyway, plant those tomatoes and invest in wheat (in your own storehouse).

As for myself I have a medical condition that precludes me from driving or doing much else. If things really collapsed I might be unable to get the medicine I need to live therefore I have a rather fatalistic attitude.

It was a joke in reference to the preper handle the guy has who put up the video. He talks about what is going on not about preper stuff tho.
No I would be hard pressed to defend myself too I'm afraid, though I am looking for a hangun that fits but has an easy trigger. particularly one that only shoots when I want it to.
But any economic change would bring vandalism and I want to be ready because if anyone came here I didnt know it would scare me and if they are that bold I wouldnt feel bad about taking some action.
But NOW this latest thing I read plays into the whole civil unrest theory which I pretty much had put in the back of my mind. I mean the divisions are starker every day but you never think it will break any time soon but somewhere "out there" in the future.

But after seeing the pictures of the sniper on the overpass during the Bundy stand off I think a line has been crossed that we may look back on as the beginning.

Regarding the Bundy standoff there is an easy solution go back to the Constitution: The government should remember the phrase of the people by the people and for the people
They were wise to back off in Nevada for a variety of reasons.
You may have noticed that I haven't really posted in that Rancher thread. I have mixed feelings about the rancher. The one thing I do feel is that there was no reason for the BLM to come in with what seemed to be a small army. As someone else pointed out if he was guilty of something why could the Sheriff have just arrested the rancher? That would have saved a lot of fuss.
If the government backs off I am sure that the so called militia will to.
As for your own defense I wouldn't worry about a gun firing by itself. You might want to consider a revolver. Simple and reliable.
