I said something along those lines a week ago or so. If obama wants to see tax returns Romney must insist that we see all obama's college transcripts. Fair is fair. ![]()

This is fair comment, I think...

Still...I'd like to see him do it. It would be fun. He can weather the storm, and still have time to bring the conversation back on track with the debates in October. |

So ****ing stupid. I don't give a **** about obama's transcripts and I don't give a **** about romney's tax returns. Neither of those things are of ANY importance to their candidacies. But, fair is fair. If one has to turn over something inane and useless, so should the other turn over the inane and useless thing that some fools are calling for.

The President’s college transcripts are confidential and not available for public review under the Family Educational Privacy Act of 1974. In addition, the college transcripts are not relevant to any matter relating to his candidacy.

Tax records are private as well, why then the double standard? Mitt should just come forward and say he will release his tax records when obama releases all his college transcripts. Very simple really.

There is no double standard. The President has made public his tax returns. As for Mitt Romney, his tax returns would only be relevant in a legal proceeding in which they were in issue.

People should know about the President's education, since it's one of the primary things that shape a person. If the President was a "D" student who got Ds because he didn't show up for class and never had the self-discipline to study and pass his classes, that shows us a lot about his character and willingness to go the extra mile. If his classes were an amalgamation of fluff classes, it shows that he wasn't a very serious student. Given all that, people do change over time and college was years in the past, but there are things that can be learned about people by looking at their education and when electing a President, we should expect to have this kind of information made available by the candidates.
