When I was PTO president, I used notes when I spoke to parents of the school. I used them mostly to make sure I didn't forget to cover something important. Those notes were on note cards.

I use my hand for short grocery lists.

I've never gotten what the big deal is about the prez using teleprompters (the man has a lot on his mind) - and I think it's cute that she put notes on her hand to remind her of things she wanted to cover.

The thing that made me want to scream is when she used the phrase "hopey changey thing" in her speech. I spewed coffee all over my monitor watching that!

The difference being Palin can't seem to process information so it sticks between her ears. She's an airhead.

I'm not sure why you chose my post to make an across-the-bow statement about everyone who sees her stupidity for what it is, but I'm comfortable knowing that her lack of knowledge is something that she more than likely can never overcome.
In kind response. Read your post. Slather it out there, it gets slathered back.

What concerns me more about her than this incident is the fact that she writes her political attacks on FACEBOOK! What is she??? 14???

She showed her true poutrage when she didn't address Limbaugh's disparaging remarks about the mentally challenged as strongly as she did Emanuel's, in fact she gave Limbaugh a pass in her interview on Fox's Sunday show...even though Emanuel apologized and Limbaugh didn't.

She quit right in the middle of her term as governor, for heaven's sake!! There is a lot to be wary about with Palin.

hadn't seen this thread before, but when I saw "Palin" I knew the lefties would be salivating just like Pavlov's dogs.

You ever hear the phrase "you reap what you sow"?
Well, considering how often Repubs have trumped up complaints on Obama and teleprompters, it's just coming back around...

Like I said, it's not her SPEECH which is the concern.
It's her using her "notes" TO ANSWER QUESTIONS which is the item of concern.

"don't repeat yourself"?
Considering how few words were on her hand (and even fewer actual topics of discussion), I'm not sure how such a thing would help with not repeating.

But regardless, maybe you guys will keep this in mind next time it comes to all these ad nausieum complaints about Obama and his supposed teleprompter dependency...

Nah.
I have complete faith that this "no big deal" for Palin will continue to be of the utmost importance for Obama...

If you want to compare a word-for-word speech pre-writwen for the person with the most important job in the world (and supposedly a great orator) to a non-elected citizen who wrote a few words on her hand to remind herself during a Q&A, you run with that...

I'd consider the bar a little higher for one of them, but maybe that's me...

"non-elected citizen"?
Oh. You mean the woman who ran for vice-presidency and lost...
You mean the woman who was elected governor, then quit before her term was up...

Can I assume that if she goes to run for presidency, you'll be sure to hold her performance here against her???

It's funny how there are numerous Republicans here trying to comment that it's okay to have some notes...
But here you are, trying to run the other way and insist that the bashing is valid...

And as Mikeyy pointed out earlier, her speech was pre-written too...

You can see her read it!

But like I pointed out, he didn't need a teleprompter when he went to the Republican den and kicked their arses...

And gee, WHY did she quit her position? Perhaps she saw what was being done to her as a liability to her constituants?

Nah, of course not. Because the Dems just wouldn't do something like that...

She was always a liability to her constituents...
Her claimed REASON was false...

Did you ever stop to ask yourself if her leaving actually improved things, in the way she claimed it would...

Nah.
Republicans just needed another speaking point.

So, NOTHING she did benefited the State of Alaska. No cost savings, no leadership.

The state of Alaska is no longer burdened with the possibility of having to pay for frivolous lawsuits. Nope, no benefit for her constituants there.

You would deny any benefit at all if it involves Palin's name, or any conservative, for that matter.
