And you pick your source.........
The Larsen ice shelf has been breaking off and melting at the edges forever. Good thing too, or the earth would be covered by a miles thick coat of ice. Sometimes slowly, sometimes faster. But always breaking or melting away. It will float toward to warmer climates and melt, only to return south and refreeze. Then the cycle starts over.

Perhaps you can educate me... how does taxing an earth cycle stop the cycle from happening?

Since these warming and cooling cycles have been happening literally since the earth was created, and humans have been around for but a fraction of that time, what percentage of the cycles could humans be responsible for?

It's funny how you believe science when we are told that the earth has gone through climate changes before. But you choose to avoid the science that says we have caused issues and should help to solve them. Selective science.

Which doesn't answer either of my questions.

If you'll pay attention to virtually every post I have made on the Climate Change subject, you would realize that your post is utterly false.

Exactly which issues have they proven beyond doubt that were caused by humans?

So you have no ability to do any educating. Instead you just blabber.

You don't believe the earth has gone through changes before?

Look, This crap goes round and round. Here is what I know. The atmosphere of this planet is like the skin on a grape. I grew up in southern California when we would have smog alerts so bad your eyes would burn. I see the same when I am overseas in countries like China and India. We have been pumping crap into our planet while defrosting for a couple of hundred years. It doesn't take a scientist to understand that we have affected the planet in negative ways. I watch as the right fights against ever doing anything. From catalytic converters to carbon tax. They fight against investment in alternative energy sources. They fight against everything that would make our lives better. I see they were happy that Trump lifted the ban on polluting the streams around coal plants. I don't care if the right wants to live in shlt but they can't without taking me and my offspring along. So I will fight them all the way. I was just at a high school yesterday at lunch time and was watching a bunch of over weight kids eating nacho cheese with a spoon from the school cafeteria. Whenever a lefty supports better food in schools idiot right wingers attack them. Look around. It's time to accept responsibility for what the fuk we are doung to our kids, to the planet and start working to do the right thing.

Do you now want to turn this thread into something about school lunch programs? Michelle has been on the quest of healthier school lunches for 8 years and still the kiddos scarf up melted cheese with a spoon?

Apparently those 8 years didn't work out either.

I've seen and dealt with smog also, but that still doesn't answer how taxing individuals will change the earth cycles.

If man were having such an extensive impact on climate change, then the previous cycles of heating and cooling cycles would have just continued towards heating only, which it hasn't.

I do support people's individual efforts to minimize their impact on the earth, and I do support alternative energy sources as supplemental to fossil fuels, and I practice what I preach. But once again, taxing it isn't going to change the cycles.

A balance needs to be found between supporting the population that exists, and minimizing waste and pollution. Taxing it doesn't do a damn thing for any of the above.

your funny jimbo.. Really so the Scientist are worried about nothing according to your way of thinking.. How relieved they will be to learn this..

What you might mean is it has been of late starting to crack. And now has done so..
And while melting could cause some danger to water traffic a sit slowly increases the amount of water in the oceans. Not by much but some..

You do know if enough fresh water is dumped into the water cycle there is a chance that the ocean cycle will halt and then it won't be any warming but we will be told buy warm cloths and more fuel to maintain warmth. Or was this just a rumor I heard to.
