What most plains people fear the most is Tornado's. And last evening many were worried cause from our northern boarder to Texas was Tornado Ally.

A thought I had several times.

Have you ever thought will the riches country in the world ever get around to making life safe for all of it's people? I mean some time far into the future if mankind survives it may just come to that. No hunger, no ill will towards any citizens and no killing just because you feel the need to. It might happen, if man can get passed trying to be richer than others and money isn't everything to live for. Who knows. Yea right

Most were never in danger but some were.

Please check our site map at the bottom of any of our webpages or Search our website to find the page's new location

Popocatépetl spews lava fragments more than half a mile away from its crater...

Mexico's Popocatépetl volcano spews lava fragments
May 19, 2017 -- Mexico's National Center for Disaster Prevention said the Popocatépetl volcano launched incandescent lava fragments more than half a mile away from its crater.
Quote:
The disaster prevention center, or CENAPRED, on Thursday said Popocatépetl erupted 19 times in the prior 24 hours, had 82 volcanic plumes and had five volcano tectonic earthquakes -- measuring in magnitudes 1.5, 1.6, 1.5, 1.4 and 1.3 , respectively.

CENAPRED also said it recorded 20 minutes of a low-amplitude harmonic tremor, as well as a plume mostly of water vapor and gas with low ash content that lasted nearly three hours and rose up to 1.2 miles.

Popocatépetl was dormant for decades before it erupted in 1994. Since then, minor volcanic activity have been part of daily life for residents living in nearby towns.

Popocatépetl is about 43 miles southeast of Mexico City. Nearby residents are under CENAPRED's Yellow Alert Phase Two -- the medium warning prior to the Red Alert, which usually prompts evacuations.

Dang I almost unsubscribed from this thread, lucky me I decided to read a few of your add ons... Posts like the above in threads like this one are great.. As readers get filled in.

But your losing so many "New Threads Points" by not starting a few of your own. Or even better pick a topic and start a continuing thread where you place all of the other add-ons all in one spot...

Well if one was reading each week from the Earthquake link above one would be aware of the Big Island 5.3 earthquake in Hawaii.

Plus the 10 or so others.

these natural events are something to fear as are most of them.. But fire I would not like to experience if cornered, and had no way of fleeing. It is said that 61 people have died but that was a first count. I fear more will be added to this number.

Another decent earthquake in the ocean just off off the Guatemalan coast, on the Pacific side. Which caused alarm as people took t the streets.

No reports of anyone being injured so far.

Magnitude 6.8 earthquake recorded off Guatemalan coast

GUATEMALA CITY — A magnitude 6.8 earthquake hit off Guatemala's Pacific coast on Thursday, shaking much of the country and neighboring El Salvador. Local officials said there were initial reports of only minor damage.

The Geological Survey said the 6:31 a.m. (1231 GMT; 8:31 a.m. EDT) quake was centered about 24 miles southwest of Puerto San Jose and 6 miles below the surface.

The quake sent people fleeing into the streets in El Salvador.
Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales sent tweets urging people to remain calm and saying the government was collecting information about possible damage.

The spokesman for Guatemala's national disaster agency, Julio Sanchez, said there did not appear to be any injuries and said damage appeared to be minor.

The agency and local news media published images of damage to some adobe-walled homes, cracks in buildings and small landslides that spilled onto roads.

And if one uses the earthquake map above, <POST 302> you will see a few minutes later there was an after shock in the same area but at less depth.. and you can view the other quakes from today which have struck so far today...

This is why I this link forward each time the thread goes to another page..
