Depending on the level of mutilation in a female circumcision, I don't see how a female would ever want to have sex, much less enjoy it. If you cut off the clitoris (as is done in the most extreme cases), that's going to eliminate a lot if not all of pleasure ability. Outer vaginal skin then inner folds of the vagina are the two other grads of the ritual operation. There are a lot of sensitive areas there too.
Yes, male circumcision (unless it was done by an unskilled butcher) doesn't cause men not to be able to enjoy sex.
The outer part of the clitoris, and the hood protecting it, are removed in these types of procedures.

What most people do not know, is that the clitoris is actually wishbone shaped. Sensation could still exist even though it is definitely reduced.

Like I said before, if a grown woman wishes to CHOOSE this, that's fine. Forcing it on little girls is QUITE another situation.

I'm not so sure I agree. While I am not for the mutilation of anyone, I can still respect the fact that culturally, this ritual has significance to these people. I am not so inclined to make a judgment about a cultural practice until I understand why it is done.

Oh, that's easy!
It's done (because after surgery what skin is left is pulled together over the entire vagina, leaving small to straw sized opening for bladder elimination and menses) so that a female of certain cast may find a suitable husband. In other words the operation, as done on 8yr. old girls, is to prove virginity on the wedding night.
When it is determined a woman is indeed pregnant, she is often sewn back up in the manner as before till delivery. The doctors here in the west had to be schooled in correct technique for delivery since too soon or too late making incision endangers infant and/or mother.

I still don't see how it is different. It is removing something that you are born with. Sex in many cultures and religions is for reproduction only so the enjoyment part is not taken into consideration.

Have you considered that the first intercourse must be the most painful experience imaginable?
The breeding ground for infection, complications in pregnancy?
And quite frankly, most men don't want to cause someone pain and then later maybe indifference.
Most American and other western doctors have made collective statements against the practice.
When these women (exchange students and the like) first came into the ERs for delivery it was thought they were burn victims till research into the matter. Most doctors and hospitals do try to cooperate with the religious/whatever practices of patients, but this is a little different as far as the modern world s concerned.
Well at least now you know how Arabs can have harems! He doesn't have to please anyone but himself. LOL Some hot Romeo! Hahaha!

The point I was trying to make is that both are not necessary but I don't see male circumcision being outlawed.

If the above post didn't explain that, then I'm afraid I can't help you.

I will comment that I thought you were a man arguing about this till I noticed your gender sign. So you're not some guy who got cut short just being a p___K.
So you do have a vagina and the thought of all this doesn't bother you for the sake of the untold suffering of your "fellow" females. Hhmmm...
All I can say about that is it truly takes all kinds to make a world.

Let me be clear I am NOT arguing for this, I think it is appalling and should be stopped but why is male circumcision allowed, should that not be stopped also? That is all I was asking.

Why is is a good idea to remove body parts that nature put there in the forst place?
