By Gosh, I believe that little lady just said a mouthful. And it looks like it was sinking in. She should run for congress. She'd have my vote if I lived in Texas!

It's a great story, but it's not what the 2nd is about. The 2nd is about giving the "4th branch" (that's us) of gov't some teeth. Shortly after WWII, in Georgia a group of vets took up arms and forcibly removed a corrupt county gov't. The county officials were rotten through and through and had enough support from "friends in high places" that they were pretty much untouchable. A group of vets raided a local armory and captured the leaders of the county gov't and turned them over to the GSP along with proof of thier wrong-doings. They then returned the arms to the armory (cleaned and properly handled) and went back to thier lives. When gov't becomes so rotten that the people have no recourse, the 2nd is there to give them recourse.

The story told in this vid is inspiring, but self-defence is not what the 2nd is about. It's about the power of the People to defend themselves against enemies of the nation, both internal and external.

I don't think you saw the whole video...

She pretty much says exactly what you're saying in the very last sentence to the Senators ...

Wow!! that was a good clip. I think some may believe that they could have been a hero in some situations given their right to "bare" arms. However, most of the folks I know in America would have a problem killing even a mad gunman. That does not mean they don't have the right to learn to protect themselves, with a weapon of equal sorts. My dad expresses his memories of frustration during the Korean "conflict" when he had to pull guard duty with a weapon and no ammunition. The "enemy" had plenty of bullets and used them often. My dad had "Missouri poker bluff" and rocks(and it was an act of treason to run)What will this nation do to hurriedly arm citizens and teach them to shoot under attack? Paranoid? no "PREPARED!!"
