Guilty might not be the right word.

Recognizing a wrong done is NOT always a function of guilt.

America does need to understand that gay and lesbian people are NOT treated equally, but GUILT is not a function of law.

I agree that the attempts to take the moral high road when this country has mistreated assorted people is hypocritical. At the same time, it does not mean that we, as a nation, are unqualified to recognize problems as we attempt to fix our own. Yes. there have been MAJOR injustices that are being worked on. As long as people don't get haughty about it, there is nothing wrong with saying 'we know from experience that this is wrong.'

Are we perfect? NO. We fight to create BALANCE. In this fight, we must also recognize what is going on around us.

Does this make sense?

Well no one said GLAAD was gonna be giving him any awards any time soon, but I don't see where he calls for mass executions (or worse, participating in mass executions), things we see from the Iranian government.

Don't think for one minute he wouldn't if given an opportunity.

Why not? I mean, the guy's #1 issue is life, the preservation and extension thereof.
