I don't feel homosexuals in general would clean up their behavior and behave like their heterosexual counterparts just because they are afforded the same rights. The example can be made of a unhappy heterosexual couple that decides to have a baby to 'help the relationship get better' but most of the time does not help the failing relationship at all.
You don't believe that the way an individual is socialized into the group has an impact on their behavior? You have a great deal of reading on psychology if you fail to the see the importance of socialization. You don't "feel" that it would happen but empirical psychological evidence would discount your feelings. If I am to weigh your feelings against science, science wins. The example of baby make happy syndrome is a statistically insignificant portion of the population. There are always exceptions to the rule, but the vast majority operate off of socialization.

If homosexuals were permitted to be socialized in the same fashion as heterosexuals with affirming reinforcement of shared positive values (the ones I specifically mentioned in my post) then the science would lead one to believe the impact would be beneficial.

When what you feel and what you think becomes congruent with reality, get back to us.

I am eternally amused at how the opinions of some, who typically do not know ANY gay people, have all sorts of insights and "knowledge" as to what gay people are like and what motivates them.

And despite what other gay people say about their ACTUAL lives and their ACTUAL experiences, these self-proclaimed "experts" know better cause it couldn't be any other way than a negative condition for gays...

No to all your crap...

No. NO such analogy exists.

What it is really like is if ALL heterosexual couples were FORBIDDEN from having any kids, so they have no potential for ANY kid to help their relationship.
Some couples DO grow stronger in parenting.
Others, like you fixate on, do not.

It is the potential for GROWTH that must be allowed, but you insist on stifling it cause you can't imagine a world where it exists.

As one quote I recently heard put it, gays should have exactly the same right as straights to either get it right, or screw it up.
You assume we will screw it up, and refuse to see if we will get it right...

Gay Divorce Rate In Holland Comparable To Those Of Heterosexuals
But please don't let the facts interfere with your omniscient prejudice...

Actually, they are both congruent with reality. The way I feel about this subject and much of the anecdotal evidence out there go hand in hand. Google it and you will see what I am saying.

I am routinely convinced by people who tell me to prove their own claims for them with anecdotal evidence...

"Anecdotally", I can prove heterosexuality is a failure as well.
Oh wait. A 50% divorce rate isn't an "anecdote", is it...

This is a very smart and informed post.
I highly doubt that it will be read and given the serious thought it deserves.

Right. I choose to acknowledge the fact that I have a right arm. I cannot help the fact that it's there. I choose to ignore my friends complaining, again I cannot help the fact that it's there. A person can choose to acknowledge their homosexuality or not regardless of it's presence.

Funny how science and psychology experts disagree with you. Period.

I did. All I got was Bishops and rabid homosexual hate sites spreading half truths. You do realize that the most predominant mode of HIV transmission in the world is heterosexual sex? Nah, that wouldn't fit conveniently into your "dirty gays" scenario.

YAY Google IS Fun!!!
