Well you might be right about the way it is taught but I have no personnel experience but have read reports about parents being very upset with how some teachers do present this simple material. That was what my base of info was on. Some teach it well others might go deeper is all I can say.
On the abilities of students in the sciences and ability of the depth of math. We have the "No Child Left behind" way of teaching. To me this means pass the student no matter his ability in the present class. I do know from personnel experience (step son) and another who can't even balance a check book after he graduated H.S. and dropped out of college in the second semester. You do make a sound argument on both topics. But you must admit there are exceptions to evey rule, right? And in no way was i bashing gays. I myself feel it is up to the parent not the teacher to explain this to the child. I never had a sex class which had any gay agenda in it. And I think my position on gays is proper. |

To me, the schools should teach education on the issue. Social commentary should only go as far as "tolerance", not acceptance. Quote:
I think "No Child Left Behind" has some justifiable spirit, but I can't help but wonder if some of the focus is misplaced. The problems sometimes go much deeper than what the school can address. There have been societal shifts in how we approach "education". If Little Johnny gets a D, the old approach was to work with the teacher to correct the situation. "New" approach? Sue the teacher for the action... Quote:
My intent was to speak of my own different perspective on the general situation. ![]() |

We can agree that we see it as it is. But One thing I am not sure of is your statement of: Acknowledging that shouldn't be perceived as "so far from what" the parents want."
I think the parents have more to say than any school in the matter of what they want for their children. To put it another way. I am sure there are gay people here in Topeka, will I meet some maybe. But will I be in their full circle. No. That isn't because I think they are less than I. Or they have less value than others, I don't think so. Nor because I hold that life style below mine, I don't. It is because I prefer to keep to myself and the few trusted friends I do have. I have told in other post that I have had lesbian friends and of my son in law being molested and given drugs, tobacco and drinks by his bi-sexual father. But I never went crazie on him, nor when the family pushed me out and brought in the father to do more harm for the S/S money did I do more than notify the child services and S/S, which in Indiana is like doing nothing at all. My deceased wife before she passed away was preparing to bring the father into court. I let the matter rest. Now a childs life is in near ruin and the guility are free. I spent hours teaching the boy how to use his mind, respect the truth and carry himself as a honorable man. To see it washed down the drain along with my wife and her loving famliy. I washed my hands of the matters and sold a house ( which if I waited I could have gotten about $15,000.00 more for, as a new power plant was being built and the managers would soon arrive looking for homes) and moved. And still pray for the boy his family and his father. But I know jusrtice will be served in the end or at least feel it will be. |

So to be honest with you! Your kid is going to learn about homosexuality even if you try not to teach her about it! She will hear about it when she starts school and not from the Sex Education Class! (In the Virginia school system Homosexuality is a "No No"! If its brought up in the classes by the teachers they can get in a lot of trouble!) Please do your kid a favor and teach her about it yourself before some little kid with some twisted perception teaches her something really Fed up on something so natural, and if u truly have no clue go find a really down to earth Homosexual!

My dead wifes son (I was his step father) has had sex with his real dad already. His father used drugs and drinks to lure him and other boys to his apartment. I told the wife in the first 6 months to remove the father from visitation. 7 years later she was trying before she died. I suggested it only because I knew a meth head would seduce his own. She was trusting. We lost. And the boy is the biggest loser. Now you don't see me in some parade to boast about my sexuality. Nor my family or many others. So why do I need to see gays strut their preference. Just do it and keep it like the rest of us, quite! Their actions are why there is sides on the issue of Gays. But what the hey I'll pray for them to. Why because the Bible list 50 things God, hates. And this is one of them... |

Get back to me on that when heterosexuals have been harassed, beaten, arrested, committed, and lobotomized because of their sexuality. The parades are a way of saying that the days when we will be victimized and forced to hide are over. Nothing more. The closet door has opened. Sorry that you aren't ready for it.

How or where do you get I am not ready for something that has been going on for years. I don't have feelings on it one way or the other. Free will of choice. Do your own thing, doesn't mean I join in. Maybe you need to read my other posts on this topic. Or just be blind when it comes to me and this topic. As your above post shows you have been! |
