So why did minorities have less civil rights than whites in the beginning? Were their rights less inalienable?

Furthermore, marriage is a right. Period, SCOTUS said so. The argument now is who was included... according to teh constitution that would be every single law abiding citizen.

If this thread was about baseball, and I said "An offensive player can't touch the ball while it's in play.", please don't show me a photo of a football game...
No, it is just a civil right.

If two men choose to exercise that right together, and are denied, that is gender discrimination. REGARDLESS of their sexual orientation.

So where's SCOTUS's ruling?...Oh yeah...there ain't one...

If there was, the 11 states that voted in 2004 on gay marriages would be null and void right now...

Ummmm...

They're not...
And it sounds to me like you think that people have a choice in the matter of being gay. Whether it actually IS a choice or not doesn't really matter--generally, gay people believe that they didn't choose to be gay.

Where do I get that from? Because you're arguing that it is offensive to you for people to categorize being gay or straight with being of one race or another. For me, it is offensive NOT to.

More on that later...I have a "Theory of Gayativity" that I've never seen elsewhere...

Hint - It's neither choice nor genetic (in the sense that there's an actual "gay gene")...

I've thought it out, but writing it would take forever...

And I fully expect to get trashed by both sides..

Trashed or thrashed?
I would like to hear it if you can pin it down to a synopsis or maybe a few installments. I have a theory (sort of) and I'd be interested to know if anyone else's matches mine.

Let me tell you why what you just said was completely wrong, even though you didn't even say what your theory was...
< end satire >

Seriously though, I saw a show that had two people talking about what could be interpreted as "gayity", and "repression" / *natural* expression.

One theorized that some gays typically artificially repressed their "gayity" because they they wanted to blend in with average expectations in society. i.e. gays are more inclined to be "gay"

Another theorized that gays actually are more in fitting with "average expectations in society", and that people were artifically inflating "gayity" to help establish themselves to other gay people as gay, as a way of finding potential partners and other social identification means.
i.e. gays are less inclined to be "gay"

Both were gay, with two completely opposing arguments.

So to put it briefly, of course you're gonna get arguments no matter what your position is...
You're just plain screwed!

That why when I wrote it I mentioned "once you take the emotional responses out"...

Many people want something a certain way because they WANT something a certain way...

There are people out there as we speak that could see a headline that says "Senator found guilty in sex scandal" and IMMEDIATELY say to themselves "Boy I hope it's a Democrat/Republican!!!"...
