Comparing the ACLU to "Charles Manson".
Well. It's nice to see how you consider defending American Civil Liberties...

That's the problem with people who are guilty of the partisanship they accuse others of, and are so certain of their own self-righteousness that they just ASSUME others are guilty without the facts.
These people DEFEND civil liberties.
It doesn't matter whose.
Your imagination on how they thought about it only shows your own PREJUDICE on the issue...

The Supreme Court has RECENTLY put forth a ruling that has CHANGED the legal history. It is a MARKED DEPARTURE from their previous rulings on the 2nd amendment.
The SCOTUS's PREVIOUS rulings did NOT support the ideal of the 2nd amendment being an "individual right.

Furthermore, your claim is RIDICULOUSLY FALSE.
There are numerous amendments that have NOTHING to do with the "rights of the people" being individual rights.
The tenth amendment is about STATES' rights.

You obviously don't know your judicial history on the 2nd amendment!

Some people REWROTE what he actually said to try to include the ACLU in his approach. Considering WHERE the quote ACTUALLY COMES FROM, your claim of "we" makes no sense.
From the Harvard Class Book of 1935, entitled "Thirty Years Later", spotlighting Baldwin's class of 1905 on its thirtieth anniversary, as quoted in a 1997 Insight on the News article.

You're quoting a lie MrLiberty.

No. I acknowledge their HISTORY.
But pointing that out would be like me pointing out the history of the Christian church, which is filled with examples of power grabs, murder, and other heinous behavior.
That doesn't make it what it is today.

Zoobie already proved you wrong on this issue.
You're fighting history and the facts on this one. People change.
"In St. Louis, Baldwin had been greatly influenced by the radical social movement of the anarchist Emma Goldman. He joined the Industrial Workers of the World. In 1927, he had visited the Soviet Union and wrote a book, Liberty Under the Soviets. He later denounced communism in his book, A New Slavery, which condemned "the inhuman communist police state tyranny".[3] In the 1940s, Baldwin led the campaign to purge the ACLU of Communist Party members.[3]"

You are a prime example of how prejudice perpetuates itself in the face of contradicting facts.
So by that example, I can look at Martin Luther's (Lutheran Church's) old statements and conclude things about the Lutheran church's position on minorities and women?
Leopards can't change their spots, but people CAN change their minds.
ORGANIZATIONS can change.

Maybe I should just start a thread on how the Republican (and Democrat) parties have committed incredible acts of opposing black equality in the past.
WHO opposed the civil rights act of 1964???
So by your logic, republicans are STILL racist...
