To use some of your words: "Everyone here knows this already and nowhere was that claim being made..."

The problem is some people think moral disapproval of a behavior can justify legal disapproval.

Some people seem to think that public opinion, expressed in legislation, should be exempt from Constitutional protection via the courts because that's "judicial tyranny".

(I'm not making any assignations on your opinion when I reference "some people")

You want to cite the constitutional right to buggery?

How the heck do you justify proclaiming that the government should stay out of business ...
... but then turn around and argue that the government should be able to dictate what goes on in our bedrooms?

It's called right to privacy.
As in stay the out of my bedroom.

The ninth amendment. It also allows people the right to be absolute dumbasses with out reprisals from the government

That is inevitable.
I wouldn't get too confident until they rule.
Regardless, there has been some talk of states just not abiding if they believe a ruling is unconstitutional.

You ever hear of Robert Byrd? Senator and Grand Kleagle Robert Byrd, Democrat?

The comment is completely disconnected from the facts.

What's the world coming to when you can't harass people?

The same Robert Byrd that in 1952, announced that he left the KKK and had apologized for it for the rest of his life.

Probably should get a better, less predictable and stale example, especially considering Shiva's point.

I say that the government shouldn't recognize deviant sexual lifestyles at all. Certainly not give them any protected class or any special protections to people who practice them. "Gay," "lesbian", and the imaginary "transgendered" should all be meaningless terms to government. and obviously, it should never involve itself in the absurdity of same-sex marriage.

I don't need to cite the protections because the US Supreme Court has already done that in the case of Lawrence v. Texas.

LAWRENCE V. TEXAS

Of note the exact same provisions of the Constitution that the Supreme Court cites in Lawrence v. Texas also establish the identical Constitutional right that a man and a woman have to engage in sexual intercourse.
