My initial thought was along the lines of one of the comments under the article ... it's ironic that this guy plays football for what is basically the gay capital of the world. Going into the Superbowl, controversy over non-game related things can't be good for the team.

He's entitled to his opinions like anyone else. His sponsors are also entitled to take their endorsements somewhere else. And the customers of his sponsors are entitled to take their business elsewhere if the sponsors don't take that action.
