Surprised to see this from Time Magazine, but I agree with its observation. The country has definitely moved more and more pro-life over time in the trenches and at state levels. (Which, since I agree with the likes of Bill Clinton about abortion that it should be RARE, I think that's a good thing)

I don't know why it matters. It's not a polling issue. First, Men don't have abortions so there vote it meaningless. Secondly, End of the day the decision is a womans alone. So it matters not what a poll shows in my mind.

We certainly know more about fetal development than we did when Roe was first established.

Just another thing that states actually take a right granted by the federal government away from the citizens. This is true of gun control (think California, Illinois, NYC etc) to even the right to run for public office in some states based on ones religion or lack of it. So lets keep screaming states rights, because if left to me they wouldn't be any states at all just a single nation with one set of laws for everyone.

For some, there is a difference between
* What would I do for myself…
* What would I dictate in law for all…

The latter question is the important one, and as you can see from the above 75% of Americans believe in at least some legal form of abortion.

Oh yeah. States have passed laws which are grotesquely hypocritical for the right-wing perspective. Repeated REGULATION of a medical procedure (supposedly the right-wing frowns on big government ) and dictation to women on what type of medical procedures they should have (I recommend a counter-demand that viagra prescriptions require routine proctology exams).
We saw the same crap with black voting. People passed laws to restrict the capability of people to engage in that right.
These laws will inevitably be challenged in SCOTUS. Considering there is no tangible legitimate state interest in REQUIRING these procedures, they’ll obviously be struck down…

I think Roe is a crap ruling but Blackmun did the best with what he had. I think abortions should be restricted after 22 weeks of pregnancy and that there should always be parental notification (notification, not required consent) when a minor is involved. Notification is necessary in order to equip social workers and healthcare professionals with the information needed to pursue abuse charges when applicable.

But as far as pro-choicers losing the bigger argument...not in our lifetime. Pro-lifers will never get abortion access overturned completely in the current or foreseeable political climate. Just won't happen.

It would depend on how you define pro-choice. If you define pro-choice as abortion-on-demand, which many people who identify as pro-choice do, then any restriction is a lose.

This might make sense if the purpose of taking viagra was to terminate a human life. Your comparing apples to elephants.
Being anti-abortion isn't anti-conservative at all, conservatives think that one of the duties gov't (state) is suppose to do is pass laws to protect the rights of the people. Have you ever heard a conservative say "murder laws are big gov't instrusion", of course not, because there are some things gov't is suppose to do.
