Default Violation of rights for not allowing cop to write "ebonics" reports?

William Peake, state trooper, says he was fired for using Ebonics William Peake says he was fired for writing his reports in "Ebonics" (whatever the hell that is.) What do you think is that racist? I suppose if he were Chinese it would be rascist against asians to not allow his reports to be written in Chinese?

I would need to know what rules and regulations, if any, apply to written reports.

While not the only standard involved, I would think another person being able to read it would be crucial to the task.
If other English reading people have a problem translating "Ebonics", then it shouldn't be used.

Uh, "ebonics" is not a real language. It's a form of slang. Period.
Think "Airplane", the movie.

I would think that any type of slang regardless of whether it can be "understood" or not should not be used in an official report.

I don't know about that...

TONE and CONTEXT are incredibly important...especially in dialogue...

"Watchyoo talkin' 'bout, Willis?" was pretty funny...No one would find much laughter in the phrase "What are you talking about, Willis?"...
