California's state legislature on Thursday passed the nation's first law banning professional psychological therapy aimed at turning gay and lesbian youth straight.

The legislation, which will next go to Gov. Jerry Brown for review, prevents licensed psychologists and therapists from seeking to change the sexual orientation of children under 18.

Parents taking their kids to quacks to make them heterosexual is a form of abuse. I'm glad this ban is happening.

Parents taking their kids to any head shrinker for any reason is shirking of their responsibilities. Never mind the homo therapy.

I disagree. If a child has been traumatized and sees a therapist right away they tend NOT to develop PTSD.

Making a child CHANGE their sexual orientation, when it's not a disorder is abusive.

Gay teens may need therapy to deal with the bullying they encounter in school.

I think perhaps taking some classes in ass kicking might do them better than talking with some clown with a Ph Dork after his name.

Actually, this doesn't touch upon the "pray away the gay" crowd at all...
