In my experience, people that like to use the "ignore" functions on these forums tend to do a pretty poor job of ACTUALLY ignoring even after they are using that function--they'll respond indirectly, for instance, when the see the ignore-listed person quoted in someone else's post. The ignore list tends to be the electronic equivalent of plugging their ears and yelling, like a child would do.

Well, I can only speak for myself here.

I will be ingoring dabateman's posts henceforth--including those that I see quoted in others' posts--as I am weary of the invective.

I had tried to befriend dabateman (for a long time, he was on my "Friends" list); but after having had my integrity called into question a few times (including his calling me a liar), I think I would prefer to just ignore this poster's rude behavior in the future.

A political forum is a very good place to offer an exchange of viewpoints; but I really have no desire to engage in the rhetorical equivalent of a food fight...

I'm not friends with liars. I didn't call pjohns integrity into question, he did by selectively narrowing definitions and refusing to own up to it. It's not rude to call one a liar IF they are indeed a liar. The lie has been exposed multiple times by different posters.

The ignore function, in this case, is nothing more than a juvenile attempt to avoid responsibility, accountability, and honesty.
