I understand. I, too, was commenting on Gordon's statement. Everyone knows he wasn't actually commenting on the article because his statement held no relevance to the article. I just thought it warranted pointing out.

Actually what the majority finds acceptable is generally what the laws are. Using your argument prositution would be legal everywhere along with pot sales. Sorry, the majority says no.

At one time, what was legal and what was moral used to closely parallel each other. Too bad that has changed.

But since most laws are written by lawyers, why would they let something incovenient like morals get in the way?

Your morality is yours and yours alone. Laws should, and more and more they do, set rules for interaction between people in the society and with their government. Laws should never reflect moral approval or disapproval.
