From my perspective, I would think that should've been included as well. Obama was the one that called for her dismissal.

Whatever happened to checking out the info and sources first before jumping the gun and ousting someone? So now it's the correct thing to do? Dump all over the person, creating a scandal, and then bouncing them out the door............and all because they saw fit to shut down any common sense and do their homework FIRST. Idiots.............

Or will it be decided upon WHAT THE ACTUAL LAW SAID at the time of the offense...

Can you get it through your head THE LAWSUIT ISN'T ABOUT BEING FIRED!
Do you understand the concept of "slander" at all?

Furthermore, is your arguing style so weak that you must incessantly demand that others disprove your claims in order for them to make a point???

You need to prove YOUR CLAIMS sunshine.
Stop trying to make everybody else do work just cause you're unwilling to...

Yes. I do.
I also understand THERE IS AN ACTUAL TERM for what you describe.
It's called Jury Nullification...

Do you think it's okay for a jury to ignore the law, but for a judge to do so would not be okay?
Or are you simply tossing out yet another meaningless distinction?
I know what the SUBJECT MATTER OF THIS THREAD is about, since I'm the one that started the thread.

You keep claiming I am wrong because (as you keep pointing out) the LAW says something different.
As I said, laws change and evolve. Let me list a few for you.
Women used to not be able to vote. It was the LAW.
Blacks used to not be able to vote. It was the LAW.
Blacks and whites used to not be able to marry each other. It was the LAW.

So, whoop-de-doo, you want to cite current law as to why you think you are right. It's a good thing you weren't around back when the aforementioned LAWS were in place. Would have argued for their continued existence? Because they were the LAW?
There are laws, and then there is right and wrong. Sometimes somebody has to have the intestinal fortitude to challenge laws that are wrong.

P.S.
Go back to the OP, I never said she shouldn't sue Mr Briebart for his actions. Perhaps you are arguing the wrong point.

Odd, in post #32 of this thread, http://www.politicalwrinkles.com/new...ion-nyc-4.html
you think LAW should be changed, but if I think a bad law should be changed, you are all about maintaining the status quo of that law.
There is a word for that, it starts with an "H", I think you know what it is.
Please note that in the above linked thread, I never defended the LAW, I merely pointed out it's existence. Of course, in your eyes I was wrong for pointing it out.

No.
You know what you WANT this thread to be about...
The "SUBJECT MATTER OF THIS THREAD" is entitled above for all to see: "Shirley Sherrod threatens to sue rightwing US blogger Andrew Breitbart".

Oh golly gee whiz!
Me! Using THE FACTS to prove you wrong...
How absolutely insane of me!

There is no need to.
This thread is not about "how might laws change in some hypothetical point in the future".
This thread is about Shirley Sherrod suing Andrew Breitbart.

I tried to hint to you earlier, but evidently you needed a firmer hand to guide you to the point I was trying to show to you...

Let me spell it out for you...
EX POST FACTO...
In the United States, the federal government is prohibited from passing ex post facto laws by clause 3 of Article I, section 9 of the U.S. Constitution and the states are prohibited from the same by clause 1 of Article I, section 10.
Ex post facto law - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It DOES NOT MATTER if new laws are passed.
Breitbart would be judged guilty or innocent by the law AT THE TIME OF THE CRIME...
The people that fired Sherrod would be judged guilty or innocent by the law AT THE TIME OF THE FIRING...

Got it yet?

You still don't get it, do you...
I never said anything about it being "right".
Furthermore, if you had paid attention in class, you would have recognized my EARLIER statement demonstrating that some of the examples I gave were downright crappy reasons to get fired.
Not "right", but LEGAL.

And for the record, I am not commenting on whether or not the law could change because it is irrelevant.

I never said it would remain this way forever.
I never said it SHOULD remain this way forever.

So you can stop with these stupid strawman arguments...

Irrelevant to the issue.
I was not commenting one way or the other how I would feel about such changes.

Where did I say that you said she shouldn't sue Mr Breitbart?

My GAWD you jump to the wrong conclusions so easily.
I never said laws shouldn't be changed.
I never said anything about "maintaining the status quo" of THIS thread's law.

Quote where I did...
