All of these items can be used, and have been used to commit assault and murder.
That's possible - I see articles all the time about people getting into bar brawls and pulling their motorized vehicle and running over their opponent.

It's very analogous to packing a gun. I see your point.

When it comes to bar stupidity, my penis analogy was much better.
Did you know that more people die in car accidents than die in intentional and accidental gun incidents?
Did you know that more people die from accidental drowning than from intentional and accidental shootings?

who said anything about ACCIDENTS?

I was referring to intentional use of a firearm against another person in a drunken bar brawl.

This happens now on occasion WITHOUT this stupid no-permit-required law.

Of course, one DOES have to have a permit to drive a car.

If you were less sheltered from Life's realities, you would know how often and to what effect knives and bottles are used on bar fights. Have you ever had to deal with someone whose face ha been peeled with broken glass?

And have you ever dealt with someone who has been assaulted with a motor vehicle? I seem to remember that someone has . . .oh! I remember now, me!

The problem isn't guns, the problem is the willingness of some people to commit murder. They will act more often on that willingness, if their potential victims can be assumed to be harmless.

And from being the victim of crimes, including a mugging which I am happy to say, did not go so well for the mugger.

Also, from paying attention to the humanity that I have lived with nearly as long as thyself. Do you understand what is happening just south of our border with Mexico right now? Turn off the "safe search" on the Google image search and enter this term : mexico ejecutado for edification.

Proper fear has a place in healthy minds. In fact it is essential to that state.
I was just in Mexico. I went down through TJ to Ensenada for lobster. No guns. I made it back alive with a full belly. You would be surprised to know that there are millions of people there who are not shot or stabbed. But if all you do is watch the news you would assume that is all that is happening.

And if you watch the news as your only source of information, you'll have to conclude that violence in society happens to someone else.

I think that we're at an impasse here.

I am not scared. You are. That is fine. If you work in emergency medical fields you also are faced with the results of violence daily. But that is because you deal with the few times in a whole society that it happens. That is still a small percentage of the society. Anyway 54 years and counting. So far no stabings or gun shots.

Ofcourse I haven't been to Arizona lately and looked and some knucklehead crosseyed.

I am 54 years old and noone has ever tried to mug me. And if they did try to hold me up for my wallet what would we do? Have a gun fight? I don't get how these poor people get so filled with fear that they feel the need to have guns. In fact if they are that filled with fear they are probably more likely to shoot someone that didn't need it.
If you listen to the arguement for carrying conceilled weapons its always based on fear.
Your argument seems to suggest (1) that muggings are so uncommon as to be inconsequential; and (2) that anyone who actually is mugged should be content with mere victim status, rather than fighting back.

Does that accurately describe your position?

Yes that about covers it. I am not scared of being mugged because it is one of the least likelly thing that would happen. And secondly, if someone pulls a gun on you he already has the drop on you. Unless ypou are walking around with the gun in your hand your gun will do you little good. And could likely get you shot. You act as though we are in a war zone where we are armed becuase the enemy is waiting outside our door. That is simple fear. Fear of society at large and it is what identifies you as a righty.
