I think the pro-life message is getting around. We are working hard to educate woman about fetal development so that they know that more than likely they are killing an actual baby with a beating heart.

When a woman sees the sonogram.........and actually sees what she will do, it makes a difference. Planned Parenthood does not want women to see sonograms. They are working hard so that there would be no law that says a woman has to see her sonogram before the abortion.

They don't want any personhood attached to the unborn.

35 years since Roe today, and this news story tells us that the last time the abortion rate was this low was 34 years ago... that's pretty much the whole history of the law, and therefore nearly the whole history of the pro-life movement working against it.

I find that remarkable.

What that says to me is that a certain number of abortions are going to happen each year, period, regardless of legality or pro-life efforts.

Better then, I think, that these abortions are done legally and with medical competency.

The moral issues that each woman must confront when pondering this decision are already difficult enough, without compounding the situation with fears of unnecessary and avoidable legal and medical risks.

This is an unfair misrepresentation of their position, DG. PP doesn't want to see the sonogram MANDATED, but does not oppose a woman requesting/seeing one if she CHOOSES to. Much like the decision to have an abortion, PP believes this is a decision for the woman to make.

Since there is no medical reason to force a woman to see the sonogram before going through with the procedure, as best I can tell, wanting to mandate the sonogram viewing is just a pro-life lobby attempt to guilt or shame a woman into changing her mind about going through with the procedure.

Why stop there? Why not work toward a mandate that the woman actually hold a live baby for a few minutes before the procedure, while viewing giant photos of aborted fetuses?

I have no doubt that would get more women to not go through with the procedure, and it is just as medically necessary to the procedure as being forced to view a sonogram.

So I guess that would mean birth rates have increased. Right?
