You do know a FISA warrant has a much larger reach than just the person named don't you? The government gets an 18 month look-back and the two-hop rule. A FISA on one person (e.g., Carter Page) allows the government to vacuum up the communications of upwards of 40,000 people, maybe even more if there are high volume callers in the 1st stage of the two-hop. That two-hop rule and the 18 month look back is why the FBI HAD to get the Page warrant by whatever hook or crook shenanigans were needed, especially after the first application was denied. (shenanigans being inserting Steele dossier info in the second application and Clinesmith working his magic on the CIA email ) . . .

See, with the 18 month look back and two-hop, much of the illegal NSA spying they were doing (the illicit "702" spying) could be re-framed / re-cast as having some semblance of a retroactive "legal" footing.

At least now you won't be so surprised when a slew of indictments are handed down for criminals in the Obama administration.
