If it passes the Senate with a public option, it will make Obama larger than life. I am quoting some Presidential historians. If it passes without it he will still have made a gain Truman, Carter, T Roosevelt, and Clinton could not for the Democratic platform.
This is another reason the opposition party has real reason to fear passage of this bill. Some of the items are to start immediately while others will be in effect in 2-3 years. So if people see things are better and the health care is going OK, the scare tactics are going to backfire again.
