Most of them are web-bots searching the internet. Search engines like Google use them to find info and store the web-references to it in a big-ass database and this is what they use to "search the internet". When you Google something, there isn't some piece of software that searches the actual internet, there's a database with a massive amount of data that gets searched. These "guests" are mostly 'bots collecting info for search engines and that's a good thing, since it increases our chances of ending up in a search.
