Although they do not deliver desalinated water in my state of Arizona there are hundreds of miles of aqueducts and canals that deliver water.
If desalination had to be done I'm sure it would be done. Similar systems of canals etc. could be made through out the world to deliver the water from desalination plants and elsewhere.

Why not just stop the pollination of fresh water first?
