Default Re: Google’s New Fact-Check Feature Almost Exclusively Targets Conservative Sites

No prominent liberal site receives the same treatment.

And not only is Google’s fact-checking highly partisan — perhaps reflecting the sentiments of its leaders — it is also blatantly wrong, asserting sites made “claims” they demonstrably never made.

When searching for a media outlet that leans right, like The Daily Caller (TheDC), Google gives users details on the sidebar, including what topics the site typically writes about, as well as a section titled “Reviewed Claims.”
Ignoring fact checking for Leftist publications while fabricating inaccuracies for so-called Right Wing sites is a completely corrupt means of generating bogus statistics supporting the claim the Right is not factually correct.

Vox, and other left-wing outlets and blogs like Gizmodo, are not given the same fact-check treatment. When searching their names, a “Topics they write about” section appears, but there are no “Reviewed Claims.”
In fact, a review of mainstream outlets, as well as other outlets associated with liberal and conservative audiences, shows that only conservative sites feature the highly misleading, subjective analysis. Several conservative-leaning outlets like TheDC are “vetted,” while equally partisan sites like Vox, ThinkProgress, Slate, The Huffington Post, Daily Kos, Salon, Vice and Mother Jones are spared.
The article goes on to cite examples of Google's selective and false condemnation of Right leaning publications.

The Daily Caller is whining because it publishes false and misleading information that Google Fact Checker flags and in doing so it even makes a false claim when it states, "it is also blatantly wrong, asserting sites made “claims” they demonstrably never made."

In submitted a statement made by a group or organization to be fact checked Google requires that the URL of the claim being made must be provided for verification purposes. Please read the submission requirements.

Obviously there needs to be something stated that is believed to be untrue or misleading before a submission of fact checking is worth doing. It would be rather stupid to submit something from the "opposition" that you know would be true because that would show up on their page if you do a Google Search for it. Verifying the truth of your opponent's statements probably isn't the best strategy for winning an argument.

So the Daily Caller is upset because they're getting slammed with making false and misleading statements. Why don't they clean up their act and stop making false and misleading statements? What's going on with the "liberal" sites has absolutely nothing to do with the Daily Caller's problem where a lack of honesty in "reporting" is being noted by the Google Fact Checker.

Based upon the corruption, brutality, inhumanity, immorality, dishonesty, and incompetence of the Trump administration the White House is the dirtiest house in America and there's no known cleanser that with remove the stains of the Trump Administration.
