The engaged couple have been spending their weekends visiting florists, looking at possibilities for the reception and scouring department stores for stuff for the wedding. They also are making purchases for their new non-bachelor digs.
While they were in Cosco, they applied for a card. They told the clerk they were engaged so could they just get the card in both their names. The clerk asked them if they were living together. When the bible school graduate couple answered in the negative, the same lady informed them they could not do a joint account. She even told them if they had lied and just said they were living together it would have been a lot easier on them.
What bothers me is not that my daughter and her future husband couldn't get that joint card, but that young people today might be getting a message that honesty and integrity is only good for the movies. Am I right or wrong?
