I never said they did not feel pain I said we do NOT know for SURE what they felt. None of us knows what they were thinking or feeling because we were not there, so it is just as conceivable that they felt no pain as it is that they did feel pain. As for those being persecuted today, would they renounce their religion to stop the toucher? If not then some higher power is getting them through the pain.

Jesus never promise Christians that when they are being persecuted, God will cause them not to feel the pain. We must avoid making things up simply because we cannot understand how some one can endure such treatment.

Wow that is pretty bold of you since you have NO IDEA what God has in mind for anyone. I simply put out a view point that I feel could very well be true.

They endured the persecution because they were so committed to God that not even that could cause them to turn their backs on God.

That is my exact reason why I do not feel God would just leave them to suffer without any uplifting at all. I do not feel that My God anyway is that cold and heartless.

We in the west have a lot to learn from these Christians about what it means to be a Christians…in this Country, we are so materialistic. Our minds are more set on this world and the things of this world.

That is your POV. I don't believe that.
