Note: I was a BIG fan of the James Bond books (Only Ian Fleming ones...all of them)...

No smarts needed, but they did take you away MUCH more than the movies...

The thing I liked about them is that things were never "just" something...

He never "opened the door"...It was always "He opened the door. It was a door made of exquisite craftsmanship from the pre-gothic era
