You do not have to know what is going on in someone’s mind when you see or read about the hardship/persecution that they went through. I don't have to be sawed in two to know that it’s very painful; I know what pain is. The little pain that I experience tells me that their pain was very great. It also tells me that because they went through a lot more than I possible will ever go through, they will receive a greater reward in the kingdom of God than I would because they had to overcome much more.
