Default Re: New England town divided over yellow ribbons

Calvin Muse is an idiot.

I hate this war too and have never supported it since day one. Anyone with even a rudimentary knowledge of nonverbal communication could tell that Geo and Condi were (I'll be kind here) exaggerating the threat to drum up support. This war is a lie and a sham.

Having said that I will also say this:

I fly an American flag with a yellow ribbon tied around the pole during the warmer months and have done so for years even before the war started (the flag--the ribbon came because I know people there) NOT in support of my government or the war. I debated on this and chose to do so for the following reasons:

I love my country. Right now I hate my government (as I do from time to time--although this time is absolutely the WORST ever) but I will never hate my country or my countrymen.

I support the troops and that does NOT imply support for the war. These kids sign up to protect their country and hopefully have a better future for themselves. They don't get to pick and choose what wars we get into. That crap is for the coke-head in the White House. I support them, their safety and their safe return. I lost a young co-worker in this damn war, and one of my best friends has two sons who are Marines that keep rotating in and out of Iraq. One was hit by an IED and miraculously suffered only a concussion.

How dare somebody tell me that my flag and yellow ribbon means I support anything other than my country and her service personnel?

Calvin Muse can suck it.

P.S. I guess you can call me "Ann"--lol
